Asked by: Fred
You'll never get them unless you pay extra with FedEx or UPS as if you use the evelope they provide which is pre Paid it doesnt get their on time so they just take your $40.00 and tell you that it came to late what a joke this company is.

Customer Reviews

Radon Gas Test Kit is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 176.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Communications mishap, but otherwise fine overall Bought the kit and the setup was straightforward. It's two vials you open and place in your basement elevated above the floor for four days, away from drafts and traffic. You record your start and end times/dates, close the vials, and ship prepaid envelope with the filled form. Note though there is an additional 30$ fee for the actual lab testing/results you can pay by cheque or credit card. Communications could have been clearer. They will send results via email and not via regular mail. In addition, they emailed my results to the wrong email address. I knew this because I waited six weeks until I finally gave them a call. They corrected it quickly and resent the results right away to my email address. Had I followed up sooner or they sent it to the right address, the lead time would have been a reasonable two weeks from the time I mailed the vials. Besides this hiccup and the additional lab fee, I recommend this important test be done in your home for added peace of mind.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Another "Don't buy this kit". I see the review below and the exact same thing happened to me around the same time. However, they actually charged me for the analysis, even though they stated that the samples were too old. Same thing regarding post office. 21 days about. They sent me a pre-paid kit which did arrive with the package damaged and no test containers. I emailed customer service again and requested a refund of the analysis fee. It was ignored until I called in person. We will see if I get a refund. It has already been a two month process that now I have to work to get my money back for a test that was never analyzed. Plus, let's not forget the original cost of the test. I assume that something is a miss if the review below is the exact same as mine. Customer service didn't care and now I will no longer use ANY of their tests. HD, consider not using this product. Maybe you would like to refund me the test kit cost!!!??

She said for a do it yourself home kit, this was good. The initial test came back high radon. I bought a 2nd kit to do a follow up and the levels were even higher. My landlord is refusing to do anything about this, so I will be moving soon. Anyone, whether you rent or own, test your home for radon. If you have a basement, set the kit up in the basement. If you have a crawl space, in the room above the crawl space. If your home is on a slab, then the living room or any central room. This is the easiest kit to use!

I was in a rush to get the results and paid $90.00 for short term testing (2-4 days). I did not hear from them. I called several times nobody answer the phone or return my calls. Nineteen days later received an e-mail informing they could not conduct the test because they had just received the test kit and 19 days had elapsed since the day the test had been mailed out to them. When I questioned two employees why they did not return my calls they became very hostile. I then asked them to speak with Carlos Ochea, director of the lab and they told me he was not available. I was transferred to a man by the name of Ben Molina who informed me he was the Vice-President, also in a very hostile tone of voice, that refused to refund me for the money I sent them. If I had known that there was a limited period to test the kit I would have sent it by overnight mail (I did not see any remark about that on the kit).

This product was expensive and the promise to deliver test results are tediously slow. And the $60 charge useless. No one would accept my test and it yielded a response of 3.0 which should have been acceptable. Because we did it ourselves, our results were unacceptable to the buyer's side. So, for about $75, I had a test that the realtor would not present to the buyer and the "2 to 4 day short term test (ostensibly just after the test)" turned into about 11 days before they could tell us a result. This was junk and Pro Lab preformed quite badly under our circumstance.

Pure garbage, If you are thinking about buying this product take some money out of your wallet and just burn it. I got this and did just as the directions indicated. I sent it in and never heard anything from them. I finally called and they said they never received it. I used their prepaid envelope of which they told me on the phone that those regularly don't make it there. Then why do you add those in the retail package? I have sold tons of things online and never lost a package yet. So now I am out the retail cost of this and the cost from my bank to put a stop payment on the check I wrote for the "lab fee". Other kits can be found online and through competitors for a few bucks more with no lab fee. Don't waste your time with this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from $30 fee without lab results - stay away from this product Have you ever had one of those experiences when you read the review and based on the aged date of the review you think it surely must be better now? Well, I did that and now I'm here writing my first review. What seemed too good to be true was. I purchased the product fully aware that I would have to pay a $30 processing fee. As instructed I sent the test kit to the address on the package on April 10. I spent the next two weeks eagerly awaiting the test results. Similar to other complaints on the website, I received an email from the lab on April 24. The email says "The test vials were received too long after exposure and cannot be analyzed. The vials must be received by us within 10 days after exposure. Replacement vials will be mailed to you so you can repeat the test." I realize the post office has some issues but let's be honest here, two weeks to get to Weston, FL? I truly suspect their receiving department is understaffed or overwhelmed and did not process the kit in a timely manner. I'm just speculating but it really is suspicious to me. The kicker is that even after they say they could not analyze the result, they cashed the $30 check anyway. It's frustrating because it is obvious from the card you fill out that the ten day time frame had passed but they still cashed the check!

This information is not on the outside of the package, you only see the additional cost after you open and start reading directions.
