A HIGH QUALITY AIRBRUSH SYSTEM BACKGROUND: I make functional and artistic woodwork and have been looking for an airbrush to apply stains and finishes. The VFAN looked like a good dual-purpose tool. FIT AND FINISH: I have had 3 airbrushes and this is the nicest one. The kit includes the basic gun, two material jars, a valve for use with “canned air”, and an air supply line. The kit is supplied in a nice wooden box. The airbrush feels solid in my hand. The air hose is high quality and very flexible. That is important when painting small areas. USE: The airbrush is easy to use. Fill the storage cup, press it into place and start spraying. Airbrushes are not use small spray guns, so there is a learning curve until you learn how to control the flow of material through the nozzle. The VFAN offers two gun tips, a fan spray and the more traditional airbrush tip. I found the fan tip very handy for applying stain over a large area. The test piece stained much more smoothly and evenly with the VFAN than using a brush and took much less stain to cover the same area. I used the standard tip to get some fairly small lines. SUMMARY: A very welcome addition to my finishing system.

Amazing for the price!
I used this vfan pro pack to stain some wood edges. The unit is precise and coats evenly. Setting it up was very easy and the mixing instruction were easy to follow. I turned my air compressor down some because the release knob was kinda hard to press down. This made it easy to press down and still get the coverage I wanted. Overall this product did its job without any issues or problems. Highly recommended for small and detail work.

Just what I wanted
I'm so tickled to have this airbrush kit, what a beauty it is too. It comes in it's own hardwood box and is very complete. I am looking forward to trying it out with the new compressor, just waiting for the weather to warm a little bit, it's freezing right now and I'll be painting outside. This will be perfect for touching up the striping on the motor home, and doing some art projects I have had in mind.

Damaged box and needle tip
This is my first air brush gun and I was quite excited to receive it. This air brush gun is laid out nicely inside of a light brown wooden carrying case. The interior of the box is lined with a soft foam that is cut out for each individual piece. Unfortunately, the unit I received appears to have taken quite a beating on its way to me. The top corner of the box is dented and the brass latch to hold it closed is either bent or mounted crooked, so I can't get it to latch to keep the lid shut. There are quite a few pieces included with this kit so I won't list all of them out but then main ones you will get include, the air brush gun, six foot air leader hose, two glass jars, and the "150ft of air" adapter. After unpacking and inspecting all of the parts and accessories I noticed that the needle tip that controls the paint flow is bent. I don't think it's supposed to be that way. I don't think this could have happened during shipping because the foam lining does such a good job of protecting everything. This has pretty much ruined the air brush gun because it causes the paint to gum up inside the tip of the sprayer leading to globs of paint randomly shooting out of the air brush. It also seems to be preventing the fan tip from dispensing any paint whatsoever. The only tip that somewhat works is the standard air cap but that's a bit of stretch. Due to the damage to the case and the bent needle tip I cannot recommend this product.
Well made and easy to use.
This is my first experience with a airbrush, and overall it's a good one. The vFan Pro Pack kit (Model 0965) by Preval appears very well made using high-quality materials. It even comes in a nice wooden box with form-fitted foam inserts, although the box lid doesn't open a full 90 degrees so it tends to shut itself. For those unfamiliar with vFan accessories the instructions are a bit confusing, particularly in reference to the “150 Ft of Energy”, but a little web surfing made everything clear. I hooked it up to a pancake air compressor in my shop, practiced with air and water, then tried water-based paints and polyurethane finishes. The finger-tip control is comfortable and easy to use, although the fluid flow control is almost TOO smooth: I often allowed more paint to flow than intended because the control moves so easily. The manual states it can spray thin lines (1/16”) through large 3” fan patters. I'm sure my lack of prior experience accounts for some of the problems I had adjusting air pressure to match both the fluid being sprayed and the desired spray pattern, but I had lots of “spitting” from the nozzle at the low pressures I was using to make fine lines. There was no problem at all on higher pressures used to generate broader, blending spray patterns typical of airbrushing. I also had trouble getting glossy finishes with even coverage, but blending colors with a satin finish was a breeze. The kit comes with two 1-oz jars for the spray medium, but those empty fairly quickly. A larger jar is available as an accessory, and I will need to get that. I got this hoping to spray stains and varnish/polyurethane finishes on my small wood projects, but it will take more practice before determining if I can achieve the high-quality results I get with HVLP sprayers.

Good quality and durability
This siphon fed versatile air brush kit contains the essential basics needed to perform most air brush tasks. It will paint a pattern as fine as a 1/16th inch pencil line with the adjustable 0.9 mm standard air cap or with the adjustable 0.9 mm fan tip it will cover a swath up to 3 inches wide; a wider pattern than many spray paint cans provide. The bottles provided with this kit each hold only 1 fluid ounce. A larger six fluid ounce jar is available. This brush will work with a minimum of .5 CFM and 20 psi. For thicker fluids it will handle up to 75 psi. The kit includes a pressure regulator for the 150 ft. of energy tank system that is sold separately. It also includes a 6 foot long braided air hose, wrenches for adjustments and a nice wood storage box. Comes with a limited one year manufactures warranty.

Really nice, High Quality
Let's start with the presentation, wooden box and custom fitted foam inside. Just the sight of this makes you feel like your money is well spent. I am fairly inexperienced with air brushes. I was able to unbox this and be painting in about 20 minutes. Next round will take me about 5. I connected this to my compressor with a standard fitting added some paint and was up and running. I used two of the hardest mediums to spray, Oil based paint and appliance paint. Both came out great with some adjustments to pressure and on the sprayer itself. I really like the fact I can get the same coverage as a spray can, spray paint, and do not have the excess of overspray going everywhere. I was able to paint two medium sized objects in my garage, about 8 coats each, and got nothing on the floor, my hands, or my clothes. All metal sprayer. Glass bottles, not plastic. The hose is covered with a cloth material. Just an all around really nice device that works really well and looks amazing. My only issue with this. I actually had to loosen and unscrew everything, then reassemble. I think some of the pieces were just too tight. Once everything was loose and moved smoothly everything was smooth sailing. As just an airbrush for detailed work I am sure it's great, I could have gone with a slightly larger paint container.

Amazing Airbrush
I am a huge fan of Preval products, and this airbrush kit does not fall short of expectations at all. I -have owned about a half dozen airbrushes in the past, so I have limited experience but some exposure from other models. The kit comes with the ability to attach the airbrush to a portable power supply (compressed air) however I only use it attached to an air compressor, so I can not vouch for the functionality of the portable power. The airbrush comes in a very nice case and gives a great first impression that does not fall flat. The airbrush creates an extremely even and nice pattern that is adjustable in the traditional ways an airbrush is. I can push more paint through this airbrush than other ones that I have, so it can create a much bigger fan than any other similar tool. It is extremely easy to clean and polish after use. Diligent cleaning after use does not take more than a couple of minutes, but if you ignore it for long enough it takes longer. The internal pieces are very well machined and processed. They all mate and match perfectly, and the needle is a perfect fit and finish. The finger pad on the control mechanism is large and well contoured, and is extremely comfortable for long or short term use. The braided hose is extremely well made and durable. This airbrush is very well made, and worth every bit of it's cost. If you are looking to get a good grade brush that will last you decades, this is your golden item.

Great for touch ups or small projects
This is my first time with an airbrush so I don't have anything to compare to, however for my purposes i'm quite happy. Sprayer comes in a great case that keeps everything well protected when not in use. Can use point sprayer for detailed lines or the fan for wider coverage. Felt like it didn't cause as much overspray the way a rattlecan does. Much more focused stream, even with fan cap. Used to paint the side panels of a barbecue I rescued from the curb. Took a little while and I'm sure with experience I can do better, but I have no complaints. Thinned the paint slightly but probably wasn't necessary. Very happy with the results and so easy to use that if I have to do it again it will only come out better. I can definitely see future use for things like touching up rock chips on the car.

Great for Detailing, High Quality Tool
I've used Preval vFan Gravity before, so I'm already a fan of the brand. It has a very comfortable design, easy to hold for fine detailing. This sprayed smooth, perfect lines, not clogging or inconsistencies. Taking it apart afterward to clean and store was also pretty simple, I didn’t have any problems getting anything out. This isn’t for huge coverage, but just the design and detailing. It came with the same airbrush as the other vFan sets, as well as a hose and two bottle. Everything was packaged in a great wooden case, the same as the other packs. I love this case, it holds everything very well and looks beautiful when stored. It’s these little details that gets me excited as it shows the care that went into this product. You can use a canned air propellant or a compressor. The canned air doesn’t come in this pack, but I tried it with some I had from the other kit as well as a compressor. Both worked fine so it just depends on what you have available.
