Just started using this product and have notice a big difference in the proformance of our shower heads and sinks,also in our shower areas. The Pro Poly Guard Scale & Rust Preventer does just that,it prevents hard water stains,including scale and iron staining. Poly Guard forms a protective coating on metal and plastic surfaces preventing hard water stains,scale corrosion and copper leaching. As a bonus,Poly Guard also protects my plumbing pipes and fixtures from calcium and scale buildup.....we have notice a big difference around our home. No more cleaning off the glass shower door with spray bottle chemicals,what a big difference. The product is NSF certified to meet NSF/ANSI standard 60 for drinking water additives.

Like most of my mistakes I start out by not reading the labels well enough. I recently order 1 Gal. Poly Guard Liquid thinking this was to put in on a sink to prevent staining from iron and what not. After I received it and read the label better I found out it is for adding to water system which I do not have. Well I was not sure what to do, so I clean the sink as best I could and painted the liquid on with a sponge brush. I do not know if this will do anything but I at least tried. I will let you know in a few months.

The Poly Guard Liquid that we use in our Rid O Rust keeps the rust off our house and driveway. Wonderful to have no rust stains!

Pro Poly Guard Scale and Rust Preventer (Liquid) is specifically formulated to prevent hard water stains, including scale and iron staining in commercial, industrial and residential potable water applications. I have well water that tends to cause scale in my appliances and copper piping. The worst issue is with four instantaneous (tankless) water heaters which I have to take out of service on a regular basis and pump vinegar water through them to get rid of the well water build up. I have never used a scale and rust preventer but due to my issues, I decided to give this a try. I have been using it for several months before writing this review and it seems to be working. My water flows have improved, and my instantaneous water heaters are continuing to perform well so I am recommending this product. It has a NSF rated Certification to meet NSF/ANSI Standard 60 for drinking water.

It’s early in the application of the stuff but it seems to work pretty well. We have super hard water in the city limits that I’ve not been able to find any other way to deal with other than just replacing fixtures frequently. As much as we try to keep them clean the water still cuts through and damages. I’ve use this initially on several areas where there is heavy water such as our refrigerator tray I had to clean it and apply the stuff it seems to be working so far. I’ve also used it in a basement sink that was pretty well Damaged from hard water. Again cleaned it very well first and then applied the stuff and it seems to be protecting fairly well, at least it makes it easier to clean for future application.

It is intended to prevent or reduce hard water stains, scale and corrosion in your water system. Some users have reported to use it diluted to clean existing surfaces. I would not recommend doing so without reading the material Safety Data Sheet as the product contains phosphoric acid.

Hard to review a product used as a preventative...easy enough to use. We didn’t have leaking issues but this was suggested to us, so we used it. Am assuming no news is good news—if things stay clear & without leaks over the years we’ll be thrilled. Am just curious as to whether the treatment should be repeated periodically, so will have to look into this.

I Saw this gave it a whirl to help get rid of the foul egg smell & now its gone! I have been using this for a while and I think it is helping my conditioner but I am really not sure. It is a little expensive but if it works, then that's ok. It might help other conditioners that are worse than mine a little better. I do recommend it however, it's a great product.
