Regular use of Res Care resin cleaner will restore the softener beads and control valve parts back to peak efficiency and maintain the life of the unit. For best results, use an Easy Feeder for continued defense of contaminant build-up. Protect your water softener by using Res Care on a regular basis. Simply pour 4 oz. of product down the brine well of the softener and let your system do the rest. Includes four 1 Gal. containers. Q:I can't generate a softener cycle when I want to. I have a kinetico softener. Can I just add this to my softener brine tank and when the system cycles it uses it?

A:  If you have a salt brine water softener then yes you can use this,just poor a half gallon into your salt brine . You should have a regen button on your filter. Just push in on the button and hold it in until it starts then let go of it then you will be all set.

    A:  Thank you for your question. You would add it to the brine well, and not the brine tank. If you don't have a brine well, wait till the salt gets low enough to add to the brine water in tank.

          A:  Product is intended for use in a whole house filtration system. You pour this product into a reservoir inside the brine tank. Capillary action will drip the solution into the brine and when the system back feeds to flush itself, rez product cleans and restores the beads in the filter tank. Do not pour this into your brine tank.

            Keeping the water softener cleaning capabilities at full effectiveness is critical at our house and ResCare is an important addition we made to ensure that our softener stays in peak form. Our water is extremely high in Iron and calcium, making clean effective resin mandatory to avoid clogging and staining our plumbing fixtures. Our softener has two resin beds that alternate in use, so there is no time during which the water is not softened. The Regeneration valve is "automated" using a mechanical valve that advances based on water usage. Since we want to make sure that the ResCare product is effectively used, we force a cycle on each resin bed every two weeks. This process takes less than 2 minutes per regeneration cycle. This seems to work great. We view this product as an insurance policy to make sure the expensive softener stays 100%. Our process does require some discipline, but its importance makes the process easy to schedule. We are very happy with the product and highly recommend it.

            I have been using this product for 10 Years now. My system regenerates every two weeks because I have high iron content so on the night the system regenerates I pour two ounces of Resin Care into the brine well and I find that it does make a difference with the taste and smell of the water. When I replace my whole house filter after six month's it was always a rusty color until I started using this product now the filter looks almost white so it does work as long as you add it at the correct times and don't miss a regeneration cycle.
