Product Overview

Provides inexpensive protection for young trees against damaging string trimmers, other gardening tools and equipment, as well as, rodents and other small pests. No more unsightly black pipes around the base of your trees with our 9 in. tall coils that were developed in an attractive grayish brown color to blend in with most tree bark. The round tube form supports itself and will not lose its shape in hot sun, unlike other tree guards that are manufactured flat. The slotted design allows airflow around the tree and protects against bark rot. For trees larger than 4 in. diameter, connect two or more coils using the handy expansion tabs. Manufactured from 100 percent recycled plastic materials. Pack includes twelve 9 in. coils. Also available in 3 packs and 6 packs.
  • Flexible coil that is designed to protect trees from damaging string trimmers, other yard equipment, and small pests
  • Coiled design (unlike many flat tree protectors) holds its shape in all weather conditions
  • Unique expansion tabs allow additional coils to be added for trees larger than 4 in. diameter
  • Manufactured in a natural bard color that blends with most tree bark surfaces

Perfect To Protect My Yard-Grown Flowers From The String Trimmer!
These are great! We let sunflowers and Zinnia grow where they end up in the middle of the yards–planted by the birds and my kids from the old, spent blooms. It’s fun and colorful but a genuine time-vacuum when it comes time to mow the lawn. I go around them and then get down and cut or pull out the grass right around them because I’m a little too aggressive with my string trimmer. This is my solution!!! I use these full size on sunflower stalks, and some of the Zinnia, and some I cut in half for shorter flowers. Now I can use my string trimmer to keep things looking clean without damaging our funny lawn-flowers. Easy to use, durable, and expands on its own like for a main stalk or trunk to grow larger. These are a great solution for me.

Protected From Weed Wacker!
For years, my gardeners using their weed whacking tools nicked my trees Heavy-duty material, which feels like it will last a long time around my young tree. Like how it is made of recycled material. Weather and direct sun isn't effecting it. Very flexible and like how more can be used together for larger base trees. Nice neutral color for tree base.

Versatile EZ Protection for Trees
These versatile tree trunk protectors come ready to use on a 4" diameter or smaller tree, they are pre-molded and coiled to fit around the trunk, and if the trunk is larger they can be easily connected together to form a larger diameter with the molded tabs on one side and readily available slots along the entire protector. Additionally, they can be stacked one on top of the other for added height, I will probably use several of these stacked to prevent deer in the area from damaging/scrapping the bark of the young tree trunks when they are rutting in the fall/winter. The protectors allow for tree growth and are slotted to allow for air circulation and combination of a couple of them together, they will absolutely protect the bark at the base of the tree from line trimmer damage.

Great Solution to protect trees
These E-Z Protect Tree Trunk Protectors are a great product to protect young trees from animals. These design accounts for differing diameters and each of the 12 individual protectors can cover 1 about 8" of trunk. These are designed to stack to cover up to 6-8 ft of trunk. These are easy to install and expand as the tree grows. Great to protect small trees from deer rubbing.

Excellent for multi-trunked trees
I found out about these years ago when i bought my first set but now Home Depot sells 12 in a pack for a unbelievable price so i snapped these up. The old ones so far have lasted about 4 years and these from HD are identical so they should do the same. I use them around my multi trunked crape Myrtles. I find that 1 of these will wrap around a couple of trunks but when there are many growing together i just link 2 together. They stay on all year with no problem and stop me damaging the tree trunks when using a string trimmer. I love these!

They are OK but don't have a lot of flex
These will do the job for protection from string trimmers. The material is hard enough to stop the typical damage you would get from a trimmer. They won't stop an eager beaver because they are not tall enough, only the height of a typical water bottle. The material is tightly wound and stiff, so it can curl back onto itself which is unsightly. I wish there were more flex -- yet perhaps a softer material would not be sufficient to protect from string trimmers. You can chain 2 or more together for larger trunks. Tip: once you get it on, it is hard to get it off, so consider these one-time use as the tree grows. Be careful that you have enough chained together to leave growth for the tree. Speaking of tree growth: there is a concern of girdling. Anything can girdle a tree. I've seen plenty of regular poly string do real damage to a tree. Therefore, I don't consider girdling to be a problem with these. These are not maintenance free. You will need to check them a few times per season to make sure there is room for growth, and if it is getting to be too tight, it is time to cut them off or add another to the chain.

Great Product
I've tried others that don't have the vent holes and here in the soggy south, that presented a problem. These are quite rigid but are easily adjustable by just opening and placing around the trunk. You get 12 and that was enough to not only protect my sapling but also some medium sized, established trees. Very good, I would happily recommend, high quality, easy to use, and effective.

Simple solution that is easy to use
These protectors are easy to use and effective. If too small, they may be linked for greater diameter. If too short, they can be stacked. Inserting the tabs from behind, as shown in the Installation Instructions, works best to preserve the round shape, and the tabs insert easily. This contradicts earlier reviews, indicating that the product might not be as hard as it was then. I was disappointed that there appears to be no indication where these are made. What might be indicative is that the link mentioned in the Installation Guide leads to a Chinese site, though quite unrelated to the product.

EZ To Install Trunk Protectors
Okay, here’s what I find. Apparently, I installed the first few ProFlex E=Z Protect Tree Trunk Protectors upside down. I don’t think it matters so I’m letting them the way they are. I find that the protectors do stand up to string line trimmers and are a first line of defense against mower damage. They’re a softer plastic that is easy to work with and will pleasingly frustrate rodents with their thickness. There are tabs for attaching other protectors to encircle larger diameter trees. I actually thought the tabs were for securing the protectors around the tree trunk. Thankfully, that was incorrect because they weren’t that easy to lock in place. I believe the softer plastic will hold up to the elements and not become brittle over time as other protective wraps do. They are also slotted to allow air flow around the protected area. I know it says diameters up to 4” but I see the realistic limit at around 3”. They stand a wee bit over 9” above the soil level so they're not the tallest of protectors. Where I live I have an issue with deer rubbing on the trunks of newly planted trees, so I have a wrap protecting the trunks of young trees. As the wraps get older they become more brittle and damage all the easier when attacked by a string line trimmer. I’m thinking that leaving the existing wrap in place and adding the trunk base protector will be a perfect protective one two punch. So now my trees have no excuse.

Pro Flex EZ Tree Protector
These pro flex EZ tree protectors can fit any size tree! I don't perfectly fit mine so the tree trunk can grow without any restrictions. Multiple protectors can be connected to fit different trunk sizes. I wish I had them before someone slid off the driveway and hit my dogwood tree. So I did put a protector on the damaged part of that tree,so no one else will scrape the bark off the tree. Deer ,rabbit, etc.damage will appear on trees and kill the tree,so protecting the trees is important. I have a purple collard green tree in a pot,I need to protect from rabbits, loll, I have many new fruit trees that need to be protected so the 12 pack can cover some for now. I will be purchasing many more
