The "Manufacturer" is totally wrong here - you use it as if your where slicing a small piece of tile - you only need to go as deep as the diamond rim - use it on your saw as it would normally be used - wet if wet - dry if dry. The stone exposes new diamond surfaces and rejuvenates old so that the blade cuts cleaner and smoother Hope that helps

you would not like it, if this is similar to the product i got for the same purpose with the same description it will be too flexible for a good edge to be put on steel. this contains materials to abrade and otherwise treat the cutting surface of diamond encrusted round saw blades, removing contaminants and restoring the rough surface of the sintered edge.
