Answer

As the manufacturer of the box, we cannot speak to the cover you selected however the receptacle purchased needs to be mounted and fastened directly to a raised industrial cover, like the RACO #830C, then the cover is attached to the 4 square box using the (2) 8-32 screws. For technical assistance please contact us at 480-921-7552 ext 1003 and we would be happy to walk you through the process.

A cover is needed to mount devices. We offer a wide variety of cover configurations, however if you're looking for a simple, flat, two device cover we recommend model #791.

They carry a couple depths of these boxes, one is 2 and change, and the about about 1 3/4. Both are good. The deeper box is better for doing junction work obviously. I was able to run 5 wires into the box with clamps with little issue (other than getting the lid on) but it's a very easy box to work in. Little or no flex to the box, and the steel is excellent quality. Lots of knockouts and they are well welding in.

This came at the perfect time now i can put in my outlet for my wife's hummingbird fountain outside ,she was all happy when she saw it in the mail. Now that is more work for me .I just have to go buy the wire to install this outlet for my better half and if any of my friends are looking to replace outlets well take a gander at these electrical boxes and go buy you some fast.they are definitely well worth having.

I use the 4S Deep rather than the standard depth most of the time because, while they cost more, I mainly like the extra room and they are an avenue for me to add something which a customer may later decide to have me install. I don't like compressing wire to squeeze a cover on a box for multiple reasons = code requirement, possibility of creating an issue and ease of working.

Well made and well engineered. The knockouts are precisely stamped so they are easy to remove if you need one, but they stay put for the life of the box if you don't. Easy to work with and fairly priced.
