Sea Rebel Inflatable Kayak

I bought this product online, having never owned an inflatable kayak. I should have noted the absence of reviews, but it looked stable and tough and the price was right. Inflation wasn't difficult. I weigh about 185 pounds and realized - seeing it in the flesh and not in photographs - that you sit down into an opening in the top with your buns down on the bottom of the boat. At this point, the boat folds up sufficiently that ocean water poured in and filled the cavity. Since there's no recessed area for the legs, they rest on top, pitching your operating position back as if riding on a recumbent bicycle. The back support finally kicks in so off I went, in a strained shallow vee posture. Since I'd bought the thing to strengthen my back and stomach, the posture certainly wasn't helpful. Waves easily slopped into the cavity - just in case my derriere threatened to dry out. Getting out was particularly awkward since I found my center of gravity so far beyond my feet. Dragging the kayak out was more difficult with all the water in the seat cavity. I used the kayak twice, gave it away and haven't missed it since. POST SCRIPT: This spring, I bought a Sevylor solo Kayak Quickpac K1. The seat is dry, it's even lighter to carry around, back support is decent, and I'm a happy man.
