About This Product
Auto-ranging LED light meter with detachable and rotatable sensor that allows for 1-handed operation. This LED Light Meter is capable of measuring popular light sources including white, red, green, yellow and blue LEDs up to 199,900 Lux (19,990 Fc). The R8140 includes an auto-ranging feature to optimize resolution and keeps track of minimum and maximum readings. This instrument is also capable of measuring standard incandescent light sources.

Can this meter be used for any type of outdoor residential lighting? In essence, are there any residential outdoor lighting types that does not register on this meter? Also, is this instrument calibrated to any certification?
Hi Edward, The R8140 be used for various applications, including evaluating outdoor residential lighting. Keep in mind that if your outdoor residential lighting includes other types of non-visible light (e.g., infrared or ultraviolet), a standard visible light meter may not capture those wavelengths. The meter is calibrated to a Standard A light Source which is defined as a CIE “standard illuminant”, illuminant A. Furthermore, the meter is pre-configured with color correction factors that have been calculated on the basis of the spectral distribution characteristics and relative spectral response characteristics (spectral sensitivity) for various light sources. The meter automatically multiplies a color correction factor that has been selected according to what is being measured and displays the result. The color correction factors are as follows: L0: Standard incandescent light source:1.000 L1: LED white daylight:1.630 L2: LED AMBER (YELLOW) light:1.597 L3: LED GREEN light:0.994 L4: LED RED light:1.004 L5: LED BLUE light:1.401 L6: Warm White Fluorescent Lamp:1.440 L7: Cold White Fluorescent Lamp:1.522
Can I use it in Aquarium? Is it water proof
