A:  Yes, no problem cutting through asphalt.

A:  It cuts masonry great. I am sure it could cut through asphalt, but it might get a little gooey. Might melt it a little. I’m sure it would work.

For the price this works very well. Used with a water cooling saw on retaining wall block and it cut through like butter. Only 4 stars because I have used better quality blades on fire department saws and know the difference.

          Objective review
The manufacturer doesn't make any claims about how much concrete this can cut before it stops working so I'll just describe how much mine cut. I used a push concrete saw rented from Home Depot and I used the water attachment to extend the life of the blade. I never went more than one inch depth at a time. I cut through 100 linear feet of 5 inch thick concrete with 1/2" rebar every 10 feet. After this, the blade measured 12-13/16" diameter and would not even make shallow cut without freezing up.
