Reply to Ridgid Power Tool Team member.....every tool I have tried to register in the last year FAILED the first time. Yes, you have the option to resubmit the receipt and make follow up calls to Ridgid customer service. Which I have done on all these ocassions. My questions to Ridgid are these....Why don't you fix the process so it works the first time? Why is my time of no value that this seems to be acceptable to Ridgid? And after registering 21 Ridgid tools/kits (well over half of them failed the first time) doesn't Ridgid value me as a customer and look into what is broken with the inability of Ridgid to cross reference the receipts and, again, fix what is broken with this process? If you add all of my time with the failed LSA registration and the time wasted (to collect and send an ecopy of the receipts and making follow up phone calls (include being on hold), I have wasted hours of my time! Is this an acceptable way to treat someone who has 21 registered products?

IN GENERAL, only BATTERIES are NOT covered by the LSA if purchased separately from a kit. Most all bare tools (-B designation) can be registered (within 90 days, with receipt) for LSA confirmation. Some select vacuums are not bare tool covered and as such only have the 3 yr RYOBI warrantee from RIDGID/TTI.

For 10 dollars not a bad deal. Light is not very bright and the color tint of the led is a little more on the blue side. I would not pay more than 10 dollars for this light. Im sure that the battery will last several hours because of the 100 lumens this light puts out

Ridgid makes great tools and you cannot beat the maintenance and replacement plan. We switched to only buying ridgid tools (as long as they are available) because of the service plan.

GEN5X LED 18 Volt Flashlight is a nice addition to my Ridgid tools. The flashlight head turns from pointing straight a head to pointing upwards. The Lumens are quite sufficient in the dark to see, in fact too bright to look at directly. The price is the best and with LSA the best again.

Light works well and has great battery life. Light and easy to use in tight spaces. Note: It's "bright white" light makes it difficult to discern small color differences in finished work.

This tool having access to 18v at a min of 1.5 ah, (more with larger batteries) is not very bright. I use a 2 cell rayovac pocket light that put this to shame. I thought it was a defective unit and tried a second but it was dismal as well. The previous iteration of RIDGID brand light used a luxeon LED and was more compact and way more aim-able as far as positions. why they changed is a speculation but cost probably has something to do with it.

Seeds Program Review
(What's this)
I wasn’t sure about the durability of this because of its light weight compared my other lithium battery flashlight but no sooner had I removed it from the packaging when it slipped out of my hold and landed on the concrete floor. But my worst fears were unfounded and with the battery in place, it worked as described. I was expecting a heavier flashlight and it took me unawares. It took 30 minutes to charge the lithium 2AH battery (not included) and I clicked the light on and left it overnight. I was in the basement the next day when I caught the light start to flicker and then dim a little and at seventeen and a half hours it went out with the battery drained. I recharged the battery (it was a new one I was using) and again left the light on. This time it was on for two hours longer (almost 20 hours) before it had drained the battery. The flashlight head swivels 180 degrees with the ability to stop the movement anywhere in between, which a handy asset. For effectiveness I would rate this as a 5 star because it illuminated a circle on the garage door some 150 feet at the end of my driveway, but then rated it a 4 star because the light beam is, although very powerful is fixed in a small circle and does not give you that wide area of a good and clear viewing area. Although this flashlight is inexpensive, if you have to purchase a charger and a battery, then I would think it will be quite an expensive outlay for so little gained. But I would recommend buying it only if you own other Ridgit 18v battery tools.

(What's this)
This flashlight is awesome! Its actually brighter than the 4 D cell Maglite! The specs say its 100 lumens, which to me translates to: pretty darn bright! It fits very comfortably in my hand and its not very heavy. My favorite feature, however, is that the light can be rotated to point upwards. This will really handy if you are working on the ceiling, or in a cabinet. The flashlight can be placed on the floor, pointed upwards, and voila!, you can see your work! For what its worth, the beam is fairly intense at the center with a wider area of lower intensity (see the photos attached). That isn't adjustable like a maglite is. I don't see this as a negative, per se, I just thought I would mention it. If you already own the battery, this flashlight is a great deal and should not disappoint!

(What's this)
This is the most useful flashlight I've ever used. I've struggled for years with anything from the cheapest to fairly expensive flashlights, but without a person to hold them and direct the light, using them while trying to use other tools at the same time could be frustrating. This flashlight solves all of those issue. It is lightweight, and the light head swivels 180 degrees so the you can easily set the correct angle. The shape also makes it easy to sit down on any flat surface. I also like that the on/off switch is made into a trigger button like you would have on another tool. There's no awkward button, and this makes it easy to turn on and off with just one hand. The flashlight doesn't come with a battery, but all Rigid 18v tools use an interchangeable battery, so I just grabbed one of the other batteries rather than buying one. It uses an LED bulb that is bright and will last the life of the flashlight, and it has a tool belt hanger that can be easily attached. You won't want to use another flashlight once you try this one. It's now my go-to flashlight and sits within easy reach.

Seeds Program Review
(What's this)
I am a huge fan of Ridgid tools, and they really are the only tools I buy, but this light seems a bit unpractical to me. It’s one thing to write about the quality of a product and how well it works, but usability is also a key factor that determines whether or not I purchase a product. I am actually torn on this because of how well the product works, but do I really need it? Here are some of my pros and cons. Design: Once again, Ridgid did a great job with design. It feels just like a drill in your hands, but has a light attached at the end instead of a drill bit. It’s very light and feels good in the hand. Brightness: The LED light is actually very bright. It’s almost more of a spotlight than a flashlight, so I had no problem shining this across my yard that is ¾ of an acre, even while it was raining out. It illuminates very well as it places a strong beam in the middle of the object that it is pointed at, and fades out to a wider circle of light to cover a large area. Function: I like that the head of the light turns so you can aim the beam wherever you need it without holding it. Just set it down and you can work freely. It also comes with a belt clip, so that’s a plus. You also don’t have to hold the trigger in, just click it and it stays on; click it again and it goes off. I also left this light on for 24 hours in the garage just to see how long the battery would last, and it’s still on. I thought it would go out after a few hours, but I’m actually impressed with that. Cons: This light does not come with an 18v battery, so you will need to purchase one separately or use one that you already have for your drill/other tools. It took a month to ship (not sure what that was about)? Practical? I am somewhat torn on where or not I actually need this light in my box. It is very bright, and you can place it and leave it, but you can do the same thing with a clip on mechanics light. If you want to use it, you have to run out and grab the battery, and also charge it back up when finished. I think it would be much easier just to grab a flashlight to take with you. Considering that you will need to buy a battery and knowing what this light cost, I’m just not sure how practical this light is? Summary: All in all, I gave this light 4 stars because of how well it works. It lost one star because I think a half decent flashlight would work just as well, and the battery needs to be purchased separately. Not to mention, shipping time was absolutely ridicules. This toll may come fit your needs more than mine, and that is the reason I would recommend this product. Other than that, you may want to shop around.
