Q:I can insert two blades at the same time into this quick release. There is too much side to side play with a single blade. I cut the end off of a blade and inserted with the blade I use to alleviate this problem. Anyone else have this issue?

Q:The Specifications shown online (homedepot.com) show Maximum Current as 0 Amps. What is the locked rotor current? Also, does the saw sense a high current and turn off under heavy Load ie limb compressing kerf?

Strong Saw Got The Job Done
This brushless, cordless unit seems to be as robust as the corded units I used to work with long ago. It was needed to cut away the completely demolished remains of a pool cage that got it the way of Hurricane Ian. The house was without power (still is as of this writting) so a battery powered tool seemed a logical choice. I went with Ridgid because I own other Ridgid battery powered tools and don't need to start a collection of different chargers and batteries. The saw worked well at cutting away and cutting up large pieces of the metal frame. However the 2ah batteries I have from another tool set seemed to have a shorter than desirable charge for what needed to be done. Thankfully my neighbor had power restored about a week after the storm and was kind enough to let me plug into his outside outlet so I could keep a battery at the ready.

pretty nice
I don't have many Ridgid tools and few of them are cordless. This seems like a nice cordless sawzall and compared to others on the market it is pretty decent. Has some good features that other cordless sawzalls lack, such as a 1-1/4 inch stroke, orbital cutting feature for quick demo on stuff like wood (of course regular cutting for smoother cuts such as on metal) and a rafter hook. Comes with a blade but you'll want more and different ones of course. Doesn't come with a battery or charger, so this is more of thie thing you would buy if you already had the 18V Ridgid line of tools.

First cordless recip saw
I use a Reciprocating saw a lot but my trusty plug in one. It's really nice being able to bring this around with me and not having to worry about plugging it in. This is a beast. Especially with the max output batteries. The ergonomics are good. I like the battery under the trigger instead of hanging off the back. This does have an orbital setting that can be turned off, and tool-less blade changing. I have a lot of ridgid cordless tools so plenty of batteries on hand.

Great Saw that's Super Easy to Set Up and Use
Cuts are pretty quick and reasonably precise - see video. This tool only kit (with blade) is compatible with all my 18 volt Ridgid batteries which saves a bit of money. The blade change lever is one of the best I have used and it keeps a good hold on the blade too. Tool-free shoe adjustment is a doddle. The grippy body material makes for comfortable and controlled cutting. Best of all the orbital option saves a second or two per four inch cut so for those using this kind of tool all day long it will save a lot of time.

The RIDGID 18V BRUSHLESS CORDLESS RECIPROCATING SAW (TOOL ONLY) is my new favorite tool! I love using a reciprocating saw, and mine broke a month ago after many years of use. This one is a happy replacement, it is much easier to use AND ITS CORDLESS! As all RIDGID 18v tools they can share the same batteries and comes with a lifetime warranty. The blade replacement is easy, all you do is lift the blade lever and slide the blade all the way in (or out) and release the lever again. There is a safety lock to keep you from harm. I’m very happy with this tool, I used it to cut up a pallet to use for a campfire, and it cut it like butter! It’s great!

First off, this is very comfortable to use and feels good in your hands. The operation is smooth, as is the trigger. You can ease into your cut with this trigger. It doesn’t surprise you and come on too fast. It’s easy to control the speed for a smooth, quick cut. Changing the blade is quick, easy and secure. It will use most reciprocating blades that are out there. The shoe assembly is adjustable and can be done easily. The trigger can be locked in the off position preventing accidental operation. I like that there’s a rafter hook included too. An LED lights up your workspace. This unit can be switched to an orbital action saw. In this mode it is faster, but doesn’t make the smoothest cuts. Switching it off and back to the linear stroke cures that, however it’s great that you have the option. I really like the feel of this saw and it looks great too. It uses the popular 18v RIDGID batteries and you won’t have a cord to constantly fight with, no drop cord, and no generator. Just grab it and go to work. This is one, if not the handiest saws to have around. Read the manual, it’s full of information and don’t forget to register with RIDGID for their lifetime service agreement.

what a beast!
I’ve had a Milwaukee corded Sawzall for over 20 years and I thought that was the best saw ever. This saw just exceded those expectations fully! It is super powerful and can basically cut through whatever you want with the RIGHT blade. I used some diablo and milwaukee ax blades no issues in wood. Overall I definitely recommend this saw and I am happy to add it to my ridgid tool collection!

RIDGID 18V Brushless Cordless Reciprocating Saw.
All we were using, prior to getting this tool, was a hand saw. It was mighty hard cutting large pieces of wood in this manner. We had a small reclaimed piece of 4x4 with a large deck bolt and rusted nut that had seized (that we wanted to use as a foot support for our mailbox post). We used this saw to cut that portion off and it handled it like champ! (If we didn't have this tool we'd still be cutting it with the hand saw! haha)
(Added note: The battery life has been brilliant so far and since they are lithium batteries I don’t have to worry about charge memory. Also, the 18v battery works with all the other 18v Rigid tools, so no chasing “the right battery for the right tool” anymore.)

I recently ordered and received the RIDGID 18V brushless reciprocating saw. I must first admit that I am a fan of RIDGID tools. They are well made, perhaps not as well known as other major brands, but they are similar in quality and their LSA (lifetime service agreement) cannot be equaled. Not only does RIDGID stand behind their tools, they also stand behind the battery packs. The caveat to obtaining the LSA policy is to make sure and register the tool within 90 days of purchase. I use my tools a lot, and I have had a motor failure on my table saw and a random orbital sander that needed a bearing replacement. Both items were repaired to like new condition using the LSA contract at no cost. Performance wise, the RIDGID tools I own are at least equal to the performance of other brands that I own (which I own all the other major brands). I would highly recommend that anyone that uses power tools give RIDGID tools a shot. I’ve included a few pictures below to show the saw I recently ordered.

If the first use is any indication of its quality, then I will be more than happy and satisfied with this reciprocating saw. I purchased the two Bluetooth batteries and charger separately and didn't plug then in but used the saw for removing some stand alone shrubs and it was remarkable! The only thing I didn't like was that this is fairly heavy and I had a hard time holding up without my arm hurting. It beats having to find another method to get rid of the ugly bushes.
