What are the interior drawer dimensions?

Answer This Question

I don't have this yet, but I do have several of the 2 and 3 drawer units. The width and depth will be the same. I measured from the bottom of the bottom drawer to the top of the top drawer to get the height: 16"W x 11.25"D x 11.8"H

Does original rigid pro gear pack out attach to the new generation 2 pack outs ?

For the most part. The half size organizers won't but the main components do. Always check in the bottom of the description. My experience is if it doesn't say it then it won't fit.

I love the single pullout drawer and the drawer locks in place. I just wish that the top also came off, but it’s no big deal because it all leads to the drawer. Great toolbox.

      Modular Truck-bed System for Outdoorsmen
I’ve spent years looking for a good solution for keeping my gear organized, clean and dry in the bed of my truck without a dedicated "Decked-like" system that basically negates the bed usage for haulting...I recently jumped head-first into the Ridgid 2.0 system. As a DIYer and outdoorsman, I've been putting it to the test over the last six months to see if it could handle the abuse of how I travel...I documented them in the attached post/video if it helps: https://www.reckonill.com/posts/diy-build-a-storage-and-transport-system-to-protect-my-gear-from-all-elements The boxes have successfully kept rain, heavy road spray, and fine trail dust completely out of my gear. At this price point, this box offers incredible value. It provides the same rugged, weather-resistant protection as modular setups that cost twice as much...well done Ridgid!

I needed another solution for storing additional tools on my worksites. I have the other options but needed a bulk drawer. This 1 drawer adds nicely to my portable tool storage. I will probably add another 1 drawer soon.

So much better than continuing to make my own. Holds a 7-1/4” saw nicely. I do sometimes wish the drawer boxes had a handle on top to carry individually and this box is no different. Built well and priced better than it was when it first came out. Rigid should consider pushing this as their $99 rolling box and let the xl box just be a tool box. I bought two. Now I just need more tools so I can buy a third

        Mobility Between Truck And Jobsite
The RIDGID Pro Gear System 2.0 XL 1-Drawer modular toolbox strikes an impressive balance of rugged utility and thoughtful design—ideal for the serious tradesman or organized DIYer. The full-extension drawer slides operate with buttery smoothness, gliding open without a hint of binding even when loaded. Inside, you get a generous 11¼” width by 15¾” depth by 10 1/2” height offering plenty of room for bulkier gear while keeping everything accessible at a glance. Mounting is straightforward thanks to the included Pro Gear brackets, which align perfectly with standard 16” on-center studs for a secure wall installation. The handles and heavy-duty latches feel built to last. At a hefty 23 pounds empty, this box demands respect—pair it with the Pro Gear 2.0 Cart (or equivalent) for effortless mobility around the job site or garage. One practical note: when the drawer is filled with heavier tools, the unit can tip forward if left freestanding, so secure mounting to the wall or docking on the cart is essential before opening.

Lot's of Bulk, Not a Lot of Storage
The Rigid 2.0 Pro Gear System 22 in. XL 1-Drawer Modular Tool Box is not exactly a useable tool box. It is part of a "system," so if you want to have flexibility and more storage, you can purchase additional parts, like other tool boxes and a cart that are all part of the system. This particular case has only one drawer and, considering the dimenions of the box, the drawer is pretty small. I placed a drill driver, some screwdrivers, a couple of boxes of driver bits and gloves and it filled it over half full. And, empty, the box weighs over 10 pounds, so by the time you load it with tools, you're going to need that set of wheels that you can purchase separately. It's probably useful for a circular saw and accessories and it is lockable with a padlock, so that's a positive. But, for my purposes, it's not very usefule.

        Great box
I love this line of stackable boxes and this one is the perfect addition to the 6 other ones I have. It is a bottom box that just has a single large drawer that is perfect for large tools such as a circular saw and accessories, bottles of various chemicals and a variety of other tall items. I rely on my Ridgid stackables and this box mates perfectly with the locking system that holds the boxes together. 5 stars!

        Very Secure, But Not Efficient
This case is really tough. If you want security, this might be a good option. It is based on a drawer and comes with brackets to hang on the wall. It has handles on the ends, which makes lifting its already substantial empty weight easier. The drawer sports a padlock spot that also doubles as a place to attach a chain. However, the efficiency of space is very low. The exterior dimensions are 22 x 15 x 16 but the drawer inside dimensions are just 16 x 11.5 x 10.25. That leaves little room for much of anything. Do the math. Exterior is 5280 sq in and interior is 1886 sq in. That's a 36% ratio of usable space to space this tool box takes up. I don't know about you, but my shop needs all the space it can get. So, I have to ask myself, what did I gain from switching to a drawer rather than a traditional bin? The answer is the ability to stack them on the wall or a cart and open without separating them. Clever, but not enough for me to switch to this style of container or buy the handcart accessory. This will go on my shop wall where it has stud-spaced mounting brackets. At least there is that.

Rugged Tool Storage Built for the Pro Gear System
I’ve been using this RIDGID 2.0 XL Toolbox to store and move some of my larger tools, and overall, I think it is a very solid piece of equipment. It feels strong, well-built, and sturdy right out of the box. The construction seems tough enough for regular use in a garage, workshop, or on a jobsite. I keep bigger items in it like my drill, batteries, charger, and other larger tools, and it handles that kind of weight without feeling flimsy at all. One thing I like is the size and design. The component I have features one large drawer, which gives you a lot of space for bulkier tools that do not always fit well in a standard toolbox. It also has locking bars on both sides to keep the drawer secure, which is a nice feature and helps it feel even more solid. The latches feel durable, and the overall design gives the impression that it is made to last. It comes with wall brackets that allow you to mount it to the way to save floor space. However, fully loaded, it is a tough lift to get it up on the wall. I think this toolbox makes the most sense when it is used as part of the full RIDGID Pro Gear System 2.0. By itself, it is a good tool storage box, but it really seems designed to connect with the other pieces in the system. That is where the value becomes more obvious. Another thing to keep in mind is the weight. Once you load it up with heavier tools, it gets pretty heavy to carry around. That is not really a flaw in the build, because the box itself is meant to handle the weight, but it does make it less convenient to move by hand when fully loaded. I think it would really benefit from being paired with the RIDGID wheeled component. Overall, this is a tough, roomy, well-made toolbox that does its job well, especially if you are building out the whole system.

Rugged and heavy duty Ridgid modular toolbox
I have been wanting to invest in some of these Ridgid modular toolboxes for some time, as I am constantly hauling tools back and forth to the farm, and other handyman jobs for friends and family. It came in a big, heavy box and I was surprised the box was so big. On opening, just the toolbox was inside the box with no other packaging, but the toolbox is built like a beast, so it was in great shape. Simple modular toolbox with a single drawer. Built to carry the larger stuff around, but it is just one large drawer, so things are going to get lost in there. For me I think it will be used for portable power tools like drills, drivers, jigsaws, sawzall, sanders, and batteries. It should be large enough for all of these power tools and batteries to fit. Even though the drawer itself is considerably smaller than the toolbox itself as it is rugged and made to attach to other modular toolboxes or hang on the wall with the included wall hangers. If you want to something for screwdrivers, wrenches, sockets, pliers, etc. I think I would go for a 2-4 drawer system instead as they would all end up in a big pile in this toolbox and be very difficult to find what you are looking for. The folding clips that hold the drawer shut and attach the modular toolbox to the next toolbox are heavy duty and have a rubber on them, so they attach good and tight without making any noise. This modular toolbox is very well made and extremely rugged and I believe could potentially withstand falling out of the back of the truck on the road.
