Q:Could this be used to convert my 21 degree gun to 30, I have the 30 in pneumatic, but the nails available for it locally are limited compared to 21. Is anyone willing to sell the original original mag, I could experiment with cheaper?

Answer This Question

A:  That is the same question I have.. I'm curious as to why this wouldn't work.. I believe the response from RIDGID was poorly answered and based off of a part number.. I would like to know why..? If the mounting surface is the same I'd say YES..?

Great accessory, adds value to the nailer holds 90 nails
This extended magazine worked well, my only issue is now I am no longer able to place my nailer in my organizers( like my Ridgid Organizers,Packout, and Dewalt T Stak) with the extended mag on. The nailer fits my organizers with the standard one on. Attaching this is a simple process, it took less than 5min, just grab the allen wrench on nailer and loosen 3 screws( see the pics). I like that the both magazines( reg and ext) has a tab near the bottom to prevent the nails from falling out. Even though it says clipped head nails, this takes Round Head nails as why, I am not sure why they only market the clipped head nails.

Great time saver, easy to change
If you have the Ridgid 30-degree framing nailer this is a great buy to save time as you complete your framing, decking, fencing, and other jobs. The capacity of the original Ridgid nailer is around 60 nails, but that is too small to fit two strips of nails. This extended capacity raises it to over 90 nails and two strips will fit. I did find that the shorter strips that come in small boxes will not quite fit 3 so you have to fire a few nails first to get the third strip in, but in most cases I have the standard size strips and two will fit in no problem. Anyone who has framed before knows that this can save a few minutes each day and can help when getting into joists, rafters, or on to of walls where you don't want to run out of nails and have to reload as often. The install of this magazine is really easy as well as you simply remove the included hex key from the nailer or from the new magazine, loosen two screws near the firing mechanism and one screw near the handle. You then slide the old magazine down and pop it off then slide the new one in and tighten everything down. I like that it includes a second hex key because its always possible one goes missing while working so a back up is great. My only gripe is why don't this just automatically have this magazine installed to begin with as it is far more convenient.

30° Extended Magazine Rack for Ridgid
Ridgids extended magazine racks offer the advantage of just how many nails you can load at one time. This particular extendable Magazine Rack is for the Ridgid 30° framing nailer model R09895.. When you buy this product and go to replace the stock magazine you will only need to loosen 3 screws to remove the original rack.. The capacity of the stock magazine rack holds nails totalling 60 nails.. The extended magazine will allow you to load 94 nails.. This alone is a major time saver when it comes to work.efficiency.

      easy to add capactiy
This 30 degree extended capacity magazine lets you add another nail strip, a real time saver without adding much in overall length – see photo. The extended magazine only weights 2 lbs. It has its own on-board hex wrench, you loosen 3 hex head cap screws, remove the standard magazine slide on this extended magazine, tighten the 3 screws and your good to go (remove the battery first of-course). A small detail, but they have a magnet to help keep the hex wrench in place (see photo).

Should have came on nailer to begin with.
Overpriced and now I have to throw plastic in the garbage because I’m never going to use the annoying single strip mag again. Would absolutely love to give nailer 5 stars but can’t for this reason. Don’t need more plastics in our landfills.
