The RIDGID general debris pleated paper filter is designed for your RIDGID wet dry vacuum (5 gal. and larger) to capture everyday dirt and debris such as sawdust, dirt and typical debris found in a basement, garage or vehicle. The replacement shop vac filter can be washed and, if dried properly, reused. Changing shop vac filters often is strongly recommended to increase the vac's performance and to help extend wet dry vacuum life as it protects the motor from harmful dust and debris. This product offers one general debris filter that fits all RIDGID wet dry shop vacs 5 gal. and larger and should only be used for dry pickup. With its patented Qwik Lock feature, the filter simply snaps on or off the shop vacuum for easy cleaning and to quickly switch filter options. Does it come with a nut?

Most of our new vacuums come with a Qwik Lock style that does not require a filter nut to secure the filter. If you have an old vac and you need a filter nut, you can special order the part number 73316 at your local Home Depot store with special order SKU number 435-413. VF6000 is 5-layer HEPA medial filter for finer filtration such as drywall dust and allergens. VF7000 is a wet foam filter for liquid pickups and water-borne debris. VF8000 is also a HEPA filter that is 99.97% efficient at filtering dry particles 0.3 micron or larger and can be used for drywall dust, sawdust, and mold as well as liquid spills and waterborne debris. Yes, your WD1245 vacuum is compatible with the VF4000 filter, as well as several other filter options, depending on the type of debris or material you plan to pick up. For standard or typical basement or garage dirt, you can use the VF4000. For fine dust, such as drywall or cement dust, you must have the VF5000. We also have a filter made of HEPA rated material known as VF6000. This filter is best recommended for picking up pollens and allergens. Furthermore, we have VF7000 foam filter specifically designed only for liquid pick-ups or water-borne debris and VF8000 HEPA Filter for enhanced air filtration. All filters can be purchased at the local Home Depot stores and online at www.homedepot.com. These replacement filters we currently offer are taller than the filters that we had manufactured in the past; and comes with integrated rubber plate, they will fit your RIDGID® wet / dry vacuum without using any adapter. Please follow the following installation tips: 1. Carefully slide the filter over the filter cage and press down on the outside edge of the filter until the rubber gasket on the bottom of the filter seats securely around the base of the filter cage and against the lid. 2. Align the small center hole in the top of the filter cage over the threaded bolt on the filter cage. You may need to press firmly on top of the filter near the bolt to allow the filter nut to twist.
