Title: A Versatile Gem for DIY Enthusiasts - Ryobi
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As an avid DIY enthusiast, I've had the pleasure of using various power tools over the years. However, the Ryobi Rotary Tool has genuinely impressed me with its exceptional versatility and performance. This compact powerhouse has become an indispensable part of my toolkit, and I can confidently say it's a game-changer. First and foremost, the Ryobi Rotary Tool boasts an impressive array of attachments, making it suitable for a wide range of tasks. From sanding and grinding to cutting and polishing, this tool can handle it all with ease. Whether you're working on wood, metal, plastic, or even glass, the rotary tool delivers consistent results and precision, leaving a professional touch on every project. One of the standout features of this tool is its ergonomic design. The comfortable grip allows for extended use without hand fatigue, which is essential for those intricate and time-consuming tasks. The variable speed control is another handy feature, giving you the flexibility to adapt to different materials and project requirements, ensuring optimum performance at all times. Safety is always a priority when working with power tools, and the Ryobi Rotary Tool doesn't disappoint. The integrated safety features, such as the easy-to-access power switch and adjustable guard, provide an added layer of protection, giving me peace of mind during operation. Furthermore, the tool's compatibility with various third-party accessories and attachments expands its functionality even further. This adaptability allows you to personalize the tool according to your needs, making it an excellent long-term investment. While some rotary tools can be noisy and generate excessive vibrations, the Ryobi model has been surprisingly quiet and smooth in operation. It doesn't compromise on power, yet it manages to maintain a relatively low noise level, which is a big plus for both indoor and outdoor projects. The only minor gripe I have is that the kit doesn't include a bigger storage case for added accessories. However, this is a minor issue considering the overall performance of the tool. In conclusion, the Ryobi Rotary Tool is an exceptional addition to any DIY enthusiast's toolkit. Its versatility, reliability, and user-friendly design make it a must-have for tackling a wide variety of projects with precision and ease. If you're in the market for a reliable and high-performing rotary tool, the Ryobi model won't disappoint.

            Replace the QuickChange Collet
Many users have reported frustration with the Ryobi QuickChange collet....the engineering is poor, dysfunctional. You'll find many reviews online complaining about the poor chuck design. The first thing to do is to replace the Ryobi collet with a $13 Dremel #4486 keyless chuck. Home Depot carries the Dremel chuck. The Ryobi rotary tool otherwise is OK. Does the job. Nice carrying case. Plenty of power.

                I'm in love! As always!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just purchased my RYOBI rotary tool and wow! I work from home as a car audio installer and fabricator untill I can save my money to purchase all my tools needed for me to open a shop. Not only did this tool make life so much easy when it comes to custom fabrication, but it also opened doors for a lot of other cool ideas and designs! RYOBI is my #1 go to when it comes to tools. One day when I open a shop or even now working from home the only tools you see in my basement/workshop is RYOBI!! You guys are the best and I'm proud to have RYOBI as my company's #1 brand for tools!

Plenty of power for cutting and shaping
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 1.4-amp rotary tool fits comfortably into my hand for tough jobs. The tool has a push button spindle lock and a variable speed dial that are easy to use. One new feature is the Quick-Change collet. It works well if you are switching back and forth between accessories. I did find that the Quick-Change collet has a large diameter and I had to force the Cutting, 90- and 45-Degree Platform Guide attachments on and off the rotary tool. The Mower Blade Sharping Guide attachment went on and off without any issue. Ryobi included a “Normal” collet with the accessories, so when I use the attachments, I will probably use the normal collet. I see myself using the Cutting and 45 Degree Platform Guide attachments a lot with my projects. Ryobi included a nice starter set of 30 accessories in a small plastic carrying case. If you use the rotary tool a lot, you may want to purchase more accessories. If you work on very small pieces, or do a lot of fine/precision work, you might want one of Ryobi’s flexible shaft rotary tools?

Nice storge case, designed well and easy to control.
This rotary tool is Ryobi’s newest plug in model. To clarify this is a 1.4 amp unit, not 1.3 as listed, home depot needs to correct the description. The 1.3 is the battery operated model. First thing, I always appreciate a storage case that is durable and holds tools and accessories in one place, and this does both. It has true hinges and positive locks to keep the contents from falling out when you least expect it. It comes with several add on . A router type attachment, a drywall plunge and another guard for free form cutting, like the rotozip. It also comes with a good selection of starter bits and blades to let you try out a few projects first. The collet is a tool less version, which is nice and operates easily. I cannot stress that enough; it is so much better than using the little wrench to tighten the collet like my old tool. There are some small polishing attachments and some polishing compound included. Sanding drums , cutoff wheels and a small wire wheel, all in a nice holding box to keep them organized The unit has a speed control to adjust the RPMs as needed. On to using the tool. I am restoring an old drill press, and on the front of the casting the nameplate is attached to the head by blind rivets. I used a cut off blade to carefully cut a slot into the rivet head and remove the rivet with a flathead screwdriver. It worked like a charm and literally within 2-3 minutes I had the badge off. Now, as far as noise, these things are loud and high pitched. Wear some form of ear protection and eye protection. Debris will hit you in the face and arms while using this. One thing to note, it is a little tough getting the tool and cord back in the box, I wrapped the cord the same way it came and had to play around to get the top closed. Overall, this tool operated perfectly, was easy to control and easy to change tools, sound was no worse than the other competitor's tool. It was comfortable to hold and did not bog down.

                    Revolutionary Rotary Tool
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted a rotary tool like this one ever since I used one in college for odd jobs around the shop to fabricate parts for UAVs. I was able to acquire this Ryobi corded rotary tool and explore its functionality, which is vast. First off, this tool has a great weight and feel in your hand. Solid, a bit heavy, but nothing unwieldy. It use simple controls, with a switch for power, a knurled wheel for speed selection, and a lock button to secure the adapter piece for quick and easy tool swapping. There are seemingly endless accessories for this tool included in this kit, such as cutting wheels, a drill bit, multiple engravers, sanding bands, grinding stones, polishing wheels, and mandrels. They come in a nice little partitioned plastic box to keep things organized. It really is a do-it-all type of tool and is great for odd-jobs or small craft projects. I tested out an engraver, sanding band, and drill bit. The manual gives some suggestions for speeds to use for different tasks which is helpful to start with. The engraver worked well, easily slicing through the wood at high speed. The drill bit was also a breeze and did great in a tight space scenario. The sanding band was also very easy to install on the mandrel and work down an edge. I am planning to do a little alteration to an aftermarket car grill when it arrives to trim out some small plastic pieces with this compact and capable tool. The tool and accessories all come in a nice easy to use plastic kit box with unique cutouts for each component to sit in. There are also adapters included so you can cut things at angles if you need to. I really like this tool and am looking forward to using it for future projects.

                      A little powerhouse!!
RYOBI 1.6 Amp Corded Rotary Tool This unit is a 1.4 amp, not 1.6., but still a little powerhouse with 5 variable speeds. It has a solid and durable feel to it in my hands; very easy to operate and convenient. There are 30 accessories for engraving, cutting, drilling, grinding, sanding, and polishing, with 4 attachments to take care of most needs. This is a new tool for me to learn about and increase my knowledge. It is a great addition to anyone’s toolbox including mine!! Highly recommend. 3 year warranty. Imported.

                      Powerful and Accessorized
Not your typical hobby rotary tool, this is a powerful do it all tool that comes with enough accessories to tackle just about any project where you can use this tool. With that said, you have to use extra care when using it because it will not get jammed or stuck as easily as other well known rotary tool brands. Aside from the tool and cutting and grinding accessories, we get a cutting guide (I needed that), a blade sharpening guide, a 45 and 90 degree platform. Not everyone has rock steady hands and this just makes it a breeze to ensure we have excellent results when you use it. One of the more significant features is the quick change collar that just eliminates the need for tools to exchange accessories. If there is a drawback, it’s that it is bigger and heavier than the most popular rotary, for me this is a plus because I use it for grinding and cutting where a full size grinder is just not adequate for the smaller jobs. Buy with confidence!

A strong, handy tool with a very nice case
I chose this set because of the case. I wanted a case to store all my rotary tool accessories. Unfortunately this case has very little space for other accessories. In fact, it takes a bit of fiddling to get the power cord positioned tightly enough to close the case. I have a flex shaft, a stand and a few extra cutting discs, but only the discs fit in this case. The case locks securely, has a strong, comfortable handle that folds for storage, and the latches are simple to use but feel very strong & securely built The interior of the case is designed to hold each part securely. The power head even snaps into place via its side vents. The case is designed to hold two items that didn’t come with this set. I cannot tell exactly what those items are, but it looks like they would be additional “platform guide attachments” (PGAs). The quick-change collet is great! It is easy to use UNLESS you are using one of the PGAs. The cylindrical part completely engulfs the standard collet (which was included in its own small ziploc bag), and it covers enough of the quick-change collet to make it impossible to remove without the little wrench. I ended up removing the whole PGA any time I needed to adjust or change a bit. The power unit is not as heavy as I feared; it fits nicely in my hand and is easy to use. I often hang it up and use my flexible shaft so I was glad to see that this unit does have a sturdy loop for hanging it on a stand. The quick change collet is wonderful, and I really like the fine control provided by the variable speed dial. This rotary tool is very useful for making little things like models. My first project was cutting an outlet cover to fit next to a new built-in cabinet. Well, actually, its very first job was cutting a groove in a chunk of melamine to create the tiny table I used to cut the electrical outlet (see photos). This tool did an excellent job, but even though these were fairly small jobs, they were big enough to dull the cutting tools. They both also might have a coating of melted plastic.
