Yes, the very first project I worked on was exactly that, I needed to measure up and down from an already existing hole, put the laser light line on the hole, make sure its level, anchor, and done! nice straight laser light was on the wall, it has two levels built-in.

It uses pins to attach to the wall, so it won't work on concrete unless you rig something up.

Does this project a vertical and horizontal beam at the same time?

Answers

Nope.... you’ll need 2 for that and maybe a triangle measure for accuracy./ This took is accurate, not not meant for projects that require extreme accuracy ( though it can come close) .... basically this is for painting, handing pictures, etc..... not granite counter tops or building doorway etc..... this too accuracy is within 1/16 of an inch or the width of the beam.

Good laser level
I've been using this laser level for almost 4 years now and have been very happy with it. I like that it has the two tabs that can press into drywall without making too much of a mark. The suction cups do not work well. I've not had any luck with them. I usually just use the pins that come with it and don't have any issues. The laser is a nice and bright. It could be a little brighter though. I used this to hang pictures at a perfect angle going up my stairwell. Overall, I like this laser level and it does meet my expectations. Please hit thumbs up if this was helpful.

I have used this laser level for the floor tile DIY project I’m doing. I have used it to square up my rooms and lay starting lines for the project. I’m also excited to use the many options it offers for shooting straight lines on windows, walls, and metal!!! Awesome tool!!!

THE SUCTION CUPS DO NOT WORK!! They DON'T extend past the mounting block enough to really make a firm contact with the wall! It's ridiculous how something so simple is made more difficult than it needs to be. When you try to press the suction cups firmly, it will shift the level out of place so you have to start over again. Then the suction cups don't hold so the entire device falls off the wall. In the pic I have the suction cup fully compressed as far it'll go and that is NOT sufficient to make complete contact with the wall.

No matter how many times I tried using the suction cups, the level would not stick and stay in place even on a vertical wood mantel that had a smooth surface. The level would begin to sag and then lose suction and fall off the wall. So I returned it and had to hang a nice piece of artwork the old fashion way
