Questions & Answers

Yes or no on ceramic tile?

Can this be used on ceramic tile? Front states for clay-based tile, and back states not for ceramic tile. I thought ceramic tiles were clay based.
Asked by: Handyinspector
I have used this drill bit set on ceramic tile, but it is slow-go and only made it through two holes before it wore out completely. Using a water bottle spray applied to the surface during drilling may extend life slightly, but there are better alternatives for drilling through ceramic tile -- although they cost slightly more. Suggest you consider a diamond-tipped hole saw like the Milwaukee 1/4 in. Diamond Plus Hole Saw W/ Arbor, or other brands, all of which are sold at the Home Depot.
