Hi! Apologies for the delayed response. Thank you for reaching out regarding your solar setup for your chicken coop. To provide the best recommendation, we’ll need to confirm a few details with you: The specific voltage and power ratings for each device you plan to use (fan, timers, heat source, and water defroster). The number of hours each device operates per day. Once we have this information, we can suggest the most suitable solar setup for your needs. For immediate assistance and to review your order status in real time, we recommend contacting our customer support team directly via phone or live chat on our website at www.renogy.com. Our agents will be able to assist you more quickly. Thank you for your patience, and we truly appreciate the opportunity to help resolve this as soon as possible.
Hello Steve. Thank you for your inquiry. The 200-Watt 12-Volt Monocrystalline Solar RV Kit is an excellent choice for powering a chicken coop with a couple of lights, fans, and an automatic door. To complete your setup, we recommend the following: * Renogy 12V 100Ah Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery – for reliable and long-lasting energy storage. * 1000W Pure Sine Wave Inverter – ideal if your devices run on standard 120V AC power. * 4AWG Battery-to-Inverter Cable – required to safely connect the battery to the inverter. This cable is included when you purchase the 1000W inverter from Renogy. * All other essential wiring and components (solar panel to charge controller to battery) are already included in your solar kit. For a more accurate system sizing based on the actual wattage and usage time of your appliances, we highly recommend reaching out to Renogy Support. You can contact us at: https://www.renogy.com/contact-us For urgent matters, call us at 909-287-7111, Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM PT. Our team is ready to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.
Hi Serg. Thank you for taking the time to reach out to Renogy. Our 200W Solar Kit can be enough to power lights and charge batteries; however, it depends on the power consumption of the lights and the battery size. We recommend 200W of solar for a 100Ah battery for 5-6 hours of charging, depending on the capacity and sun exposure. A 100Ah battery is sufficient for a 1000W inverter. If the wattage of your lights falls within this range, we would recommend getting this kit. However, if you plan to run other high-power devices, you may need to scale up the solar kit or increase the battery capacity. We hope this helps!
Hi LJR3. Thank you for taking the time to reach Renogy. Here are the differences between the two charge controllers. The Wanderer 30A has a maximum PV input power of 400W and can only be connected to 12V batteries. The Adventurer 30A can be connected to both 12V and 24V batteries and has a maximum PV input power of 400W for a 12V system and 800W for a 24V system. It also has a USB port, an LCD display, and a battery voltage sensor port which the Wanderer 30A doesn't have. We hope this helped!
Hi Dmgent77. Thank you for reaching Renogy. The 200W Solar RV kit is compatible and can charge 2 100Ah Lithium Iron Phosphate Batteries. The charge controller included in the kit has setting where you can set the battery type so it charges the batteries according to the correct parameters. Instructions on how to change the battery type are shown in the manual which is also included in the kit. I hope this answers your question!
