How to replace the pressure switch?

Answer

Unplug the unit. Take the filter off by turning and loosening it to make it easy to take the compressor cover halves off. There are a few screws holding the cover halves together. You will need a star bit set to undo these screws. Once you get all of the screws off, pry open the halves where it's snapped together in a few places. Once you get the cover halves off, you'll see the pressure switch attached to the left half of the cover. Unplug the power wires to the pressure switch, (and maybe even the ON and Off switch) to make it easy to work. Take the bracket screw off that's holding the pressure switch in place (note how the bracket goes on the pressure switch so you don't forget to install it on to the new pressure switch). Take the clamp off that's holding the hose attached to the pressure switch. This clamp is a special clamp and if you don't have the correct tool for it, you will have to pry it off, and you will need to use another generic Home Depot clamp to secure the hose in place after you replace the pressure switch. You will need a tiny 1/2 inch clamp, and may need to use 2 of these clamps staggered side by side, because the tightening strength on these generic clamps is not as strong as the original crimp-on clamp. Then reverse the installation process to assemble it back.
