Product Overview

  • Design allows the optimum angle for power and precision
  • Accepts any brand of accessories without the need for an adapter
  • Tool-less blade change gives 1-Ton of clamping force
The new Rockwell duo tech oscillation Sonicrafter F80 (RK5151K) is the first oscillating multi-tool that provides a choice of 2 oscillating angles: 5.0 degree and 3.4 degree. Now, users can choose the 5.0 degree oscillating angle when projects require fast, aggressive cuts for Quick results or the 3.4° angle for precision and continuous control. The versatile Rockwell F80 duo tech oscillation Sonicrafter works harder and faster than any other multi-tool, while enabling the user to choose the oscillating angle that best suits the job at hand. The handcrafted Rockwell F80 can be used at a 5.0 degree oscillating angle with an end-cut blade to make short work of cross-cutting, ripping or making plunge-cuts in wood and other materials. Versatile F80 trims doorjambs, clips nail heads and cuts PVC or metal plumbing pipes. Switch to the 3.4° angle, using a rigid Scraper blade, to remove blistered paint, take rust from bare metal for priming or scrape and remove hardened caulk or adhesives. Clamp on a carbide grit semicircular blade to grind old grout from between floor or wall tiles. Cutting speed of the handcrafted F80 is 5 times faster than the basic Rockwell Sonicrafter rk5121k. The F80 features the industry leading maximum cutting load of 35 lbs. Of force. This means it can be pushed harder than any other multi-tool brand of without stalling the blade.
  • Powerful 4.2 Amp motor with constant speed control won't stall under heavy loads
  • Duotech oscillation technology allows you to select the optimum oscillation angle for power and precision
  • Hyperlock tool-free clamp is easy to use and provides 1 ton of clamping force to prevent slipping during use, no matter the blade angle
  • Variable speed dial for precision control, from 10,000 to 19,000 oscillations per minute
  • Dual oscillation angles, 5° or 3.4°
  • Universal fit system holds all major brands of blades
  • Includes 10 accessories and hard storage case

I bought one of these in your previous model a couple years ago to use for small projects. I used to for about a year for cutting out drywall and other small jobs. I turned it on one morning and something inside the transmission or something broke so the blade quit moving, but the motor still ran. I checked around online and found out many others had the same problem and the model is discontinued. I contacted Rockwell customer service to find out about parts and repair. I describe the problem and the agent surprisingly stated she would send a whole new updated model F80. I thought that was very good customer service and I was surprised. I got the new tool and using a couple times marveling at the noticeable greater power it had. Then about the third time I used it it broke again the exact same thing the blade no longer moves I'm done wasting my money on this brand. It's apparently made of cheap garbage that continues to break. My recommended opinion is buy another brand. I can't afford to keep buying these worthless tools

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite tool! I’ve owned two now. The first I bought at least 10 years ago and it was heavily used...and probably abused. Bought this one last month and I’m positive it will go a decade too. If not, I have solid trust in Rockwell. You won’t find a more diverse tool capable of multiple jobs. I use this unit on a minor job cutting a small section of privacy fence in my yard. Unit was not loud and worked great. I am using the 120 volt unit. Very smooth running no excessive vibration. Nice experience.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rockwell F 80 Sonicrafter We have purchased numerous Rockwell Tools including 6 F 80 Model Sonicrafters. To date; 5 of the 6 sonicrafters are no longer in use due to the duo tech system and double bearings malfunction. The bearing components have entirely disintegrated and we and have not been able to purchase replacement parts on any of the F 80 models. I am both disappointed and frustrated with its performance and would not recommend this sonicrafter to any of my colleges or vendors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tool - Powerful and Flexible I'm a well seasoned DIY'er and I absolutely love this tool - it is my 'go to tool'!! The power is great and the ability to change oscillation angles is fantastic! There are reviews noting that it doesn't have a quick tool change; however, I have found the design they used (hyperlock) to work extremely well and allows me to easily use blades from other manufacturers. A note here - to more easily accommodate the other manufacturer blades that have a full circle in the attachment area, I grind out a 'V' shape similar to the Rockwell blades using a bench grinder. Works out great and allows me to use them without having to remove the shaft. Having the ability to increase the clamping force (via the hyperlock system) also helps with this when the blade holes don't align properly. Overall I'm extremely happy with this tool!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dawesguy says"This is a KEEPER!" Got this 2 weeks ago at the start of an inside finishing job (I am a GC) Been using it on wood, trim, Versatex and drywall. A++++ job. Things I like: Powerful, Lightweight, blades changes easily and securely, Power cord just long enough, Trigger easily accessed and robust. Case is nice & heavy-duty(dropped the whole thing, case and all 10' off a ladder when I just got it, NO PROB!) Handle is ergonomic and easily grasped by all size hands. Things Just OK: vibration level to your hand is a bit much (but so is my 'yellow' one and the 'F' pro unit as well!) What I don't like: kinda noisy, but I guess on a job site, not a big deal. I'd definitely recommend this unit. Rockwell has really stepped up their game on the hand tool front!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don’t know how I went without this for so long I decided one day that I wanted an oscillating tool and started shopping. I just wanted a cheap basic one Well the more I shopped the more I kept coming back to the F80 and that’s what I got I have used it for so many projects it’s unbelievable things I would have never guessed it is fantastic! The variable speed makes a difference and both have their place. All I can say is I will never be without one of these again.
