Arrived asssembled and ready to use. Was slightly different from other cutters I have used as you need to engage the foot manually. However, after reading the directions and feeling like and idiot, it works great. Scored and cut 36" ceramic plank tile with ease.

This is a quality tool. Unfortunately, it only has extremely limited instructions on the side of the box. I am not a professional tile contractor. I am just a DIY homeowner and I am not familiar with this kind of tile cutter. If you are a professional, then my guess is you know what you want and the brand you want. You would know if this one meets your needs. For the rest of us it is trial and error. The moment I opened the box I knew I had a quality product based on the machining of the parts alone. There are some pictures on the side of the box that give a very rough idea of how to use it. But the pictures leave out a very important part. I had no idea how to score the tile and break it. It turns out that there is a piece that must be raised up while scoring and then lowered to break. And I was not sure where along the tile piece that I should apply the pressure. I finally went to the manufacturer's web site and they had a video. Not a great video for homeowners, but I was able to follow it enough to figure things out. My first attempts before I watched the video were disastrous. But after watching the video I got a clean cut and things worked great. I highly recommend getting cheap white tiles to practice on before trying any expensive high-end product. But, once you get the knack, it works great.

This is my first time cutting tile without a wet/tile saw and I think this tool is actually pretty good. I wasn't overly impressed with the cut edge and how jagged it is compared to using a tile saw, but I imagine this would typically be used to cut tiles that will be covered by a baseboard, cabinet or something similar. All in all it cut very fast and less messy than a wet saw. I provided some photos below of the cuts. I was disappointed that there weren't actual instructions on how to set it up or really use it other than what was on the outside of the box. I ended up looking up some online videos on how to properly use the cutter which helped me figure it out. I have used a tile cutter once before and it oftentimes broke the tile and I wasn't able to use it. I tested this cutter with several tiles, cutting some at angles and some straight and I didn't break a single tile. Other than the setup and lack of usage instructions, this cutter is pretty top notch. I would definitely recommend it. I would suggest practicing with a few tiles before you begin, your tile job, but there wasn't much of a learning curve and I picked it up quickly.

This was my first time using a tile cutter. I am redoing my bathroom and used this to cut tile for my bathroom. Upon removing it from the box I noticed that this did not come with any instructions. The tile I cut was about 5/16" thick. The 6 part process to operate it was on the box which was good( There was a picture for each step). Even though this was my first time using a tile cutter, the learning curve for me was about 5minutes. At first I did not pull the lever all the way up, make sure it is at 90degrees or 12 o'clock to enable the scoring process it, after you score it, push the lever all the way down and push down on the handle to snap the piece. I was able to make 45 deg cuts with no problems due to the angled guide. It was a pain removing and reattaching the angle guide, I feel that it should be a way to keep it attached and still have the ability to make both cuts. The cuts were clean and pretty straight for the most part. As I use it more and more I will use a clamp or scrap plywood to hold down the left side of the tile to reduce movement. There are legs on the side to assist in stabilizing the cutter also Cons: Came with no instructions, I would have liked if it came with a guard for the blade to protect it when it is not in use. I would have also liked a clamp to hold down the left side of the workpiece (The right side has the angled guide and another piece to ensure it is aligned properly. Also having to remove and reinsert the black piece for the angled cuts can be cumbersome. I would like to see this reworked so you do not have to remove it all for angled cuts, this will also reduce the risk of losing it

I got this tile cutter for the occasional tile work and repair jobs that I do. To be honest, its a bit overkill for my needs. Its an excellent cutter. It will cut tiles up to 36 inches long lengthwise and 25 inches diagonally. It cuts very easily and makes very clean cuts. It has two arms that swing out to stabilize it when cutting and a guide for making angled cuts. It has rubber feet to protect any surface you might use it on. I would recommend this for someone who does a good bit of tile work. Because it can cut such big pieces of tile, its quite large and will take up a good bit of space. Also, you should know how to cut tile, because although its pretty simple, this does not come with any instructions.

    Response from RubiExpertJun 11, 2021
Dear Customer, thank you for your purchase of Rubi Tools. We thank you for your feedback and appreciate you taking the time to post your review. At Rubi Tools, we take our continuous improvement program very seriously and we always appreciate constructive feedback that will help better our product. As with any manual cutter, the Speed Plus cutter works on a score and snap principle to where you score a consistent line and then break the tile which will run along the score path. There are many variables that affect the cut: score, material, scoring wheel... In this case, looks like the score is not consistent all the way and/or you are applying too much pressure while scoring, and that is why the tile cuts uneven. We recommend to score backwards the last 1-2 inches of the tile and then score lightly all the way to the other end (make sure the score sounds like you are ripping paper. If it does not sound like that, you are probably applying to much pressure). The scoring wheel that comes with the product is ideal for smooth surface tile, but we would recommend using a larger Rubi scoring wheel for textured and harder porcelain. If you have textured or hard to cut tile, we recommend the 10mm scoring wheel. Larger scoring wheels not only help work through highly textured tile, but have a different edge profile which are also ideal for harder porcelains. Please reach out to our customers service at 305-715-9892 or by email at rubitools.usa@rubi.com for any additional question. Thanks Rubi

I bought this because I had a job that I needed to cut 36" plank tiles. I absolutely love this board, the smallest cut I made with this board was 1/2" wide by the 36" long. WOW!! that just doesn't happen very easy. I would to use it everyday for work, (I am a professional tile setter for 31 years), except the board is pretty heavy. I am totally impressed with this board!
