40 in. Indoor/Outdoor White Retractable Wall Mount Drying Rack

I have a small and compact laundry room and have to be creative to maximum the usefulness of the space. I purchased one cabinet that my contractor installed; he added two shelves that abutted the cabinet and the 40 in. Indoor/Outdoor White Retractable Wall Mount Drying Rack above the door and across from the cabinets. The results are beautiful and compact and work wonderfully. I have used every bit of both spaces to house everything from washer/dryer to cleaning supplies to a laundry hamper. My contractor installed the 40 in. Indoor/Outdoor White Retractable Wall Mount Drying Rack into the studs. It is incredibly durable, solid, and holds several garments for air drying. It also folds flat and is virtually out of sight when not in use. I have opened and closed several times without problems. I highly recommend this product.

We have a small laundry area and most drying racks take up an excessive amount of space. This hanging rack is perfect for our laundry area. Mounts on the wall and comes with great heavy-duty anchors and hardware. The rack is made out of metal and is heavy and solid, so it should be able to support a fair amount of wet laundry. The rails on it are SOLID metal! Normally these are thin cables or cord on most devices like this, but these are actual metal bars! The whole thing folds up and folds out easily and smoothly. Very impressed!

I was wanting a way to dry smaller wash loads without needing to pull out the large gullwing drying rack that we use to dry big items like winter jackets; I needed something a little less obtrusive. Or a LOT less obtrusive, in this case. I love how easily it folds away and the sleek, low profile it maintains against the wall, while still being large enough for several full-sized items of clothing. The only challenge was installation - it is possible to install it by yourself (I did) but it can be quite awkward and unwieldy to do so. You'll have a much easier time with a second pair of hands.

This is a great clothes drying rack for next to the pool or on the balcony or deck at the beach. It easily opens so you can extend the six 40 inch ribbed aluminum rods to give you 20 feet of hanging space. It closes to become almost invisible when not in use. I installed it next to the door to my man cave so that when I come in from working in the garden I can hang up my sweaty clothes to dry overnight before giving them to my wife to wash. It was easy to install following the instructions given. I would recommend having a second person to help even though I put it up by myself. (The rack is kind of awkward to hold up with one hand while marking the holes and while screwing in the screws.) I was thankful that a long extended Phillips bit was included because the screws would be difficult to reach without it. You can use the driver either from the top, middle or bottom and still reach the screws. A few helpful tips: Make sure that your open rack will not be in a common walkway; Use a level to mark a line before installation; Make sure that as many screws as possible embed in a stud otherwise the 60 pound capacity will be much reduced.

Slim, Slim, Slim that's what drew me to this drying rack. In the winter I heat with a wood stove, and the air gets very dry. To add moisture to the air, and save a little money, I like to dry some of my thicker, heavier clothes near the wood stove. Since it's in the family room, having a laundry line across the room would look tacky, and those folding racks are wobbly and take up floor space. When I saw this, I realized it would be perfect. I've mounted it on the inside of the beam that runs across the room, so that you don't see it when you enter the room. When pulled out, there are 6 - 40" rods (20 linear feet) that are staggered and can hold up to 60 lbs. It was relatively easy to install, but there were some challenges. First, the holes on the base are behind the rods making it impossible to screw down the base plate without scratching the rods...that said, you aren't leaving it open for display, so it's probably not a big deal. Second, there were only 5 screws provided and there were 8 holes on the base plate. The screws were not very good ones, so we used 8 of our own. Lastly when shut you can see the rods through the outer edges. Once again, that's not a big deal, but seems like the whole thing could have been easily encased making it look a little more sleek. These distractions aside, it works well. It is very sturdy, and holds a lot of things. It opens and closes easily. This would be great in a lot a places: a laundry room, by a pool or lake to hold/dry wet towels.

I wasn't really sure about this wall mount drying rack until I actually got it and installed it. It's quite heavy and well made. You'll need two people to mount it. I was only able to get it into 2 studs, the rest I used the enclosed wall anchors. Make sure you double check which side is up and down before installing. I installed it outside my laundry room. It opens and closes easily. When it is closed, it takes up barely any room. It expands out well and you can hang quite a few items on it.

This is a great drying rack. Hides away when not in use and does not take up any significant space. Also holds a large amount of items to dry without any issues. It is a great piece in my laundry room.
