The ADT smart things unit includes the hub. You don’t need both
You have to first have the Phillips hue hub and then it syncs with SmartThings. This is my set up and I like it because SmartThings works with so many switches etc plus Alexa
Yes, The smartthings hub can use the motion detection on the ring doorbell and floodlights. There is an app you install (somewhere) within the smartthings automation pages that allows you to use the ring devices motion sensors. I use it, works good.
