Dangerous for Truck Stop nozzles!
Will not let nozzles at truck stop breathe and will spray diesel in your eyes! Only use at car pumps!
Manufacturer should know the size of all nozzles before producing!

The “screen” you see in the neck of the fuel can is actually a safety device called a flame mitigation device (FMD). Its inclusion in fuel containers is part of a 2020 U.S. law to improve overall safety. It does not make it safe to mix Gas and Fire, which remains extremely dangerous, but helps to protect the consumer against situations of potential misuse. Do not ever remove or modify the FMD. We understand that filling the containers now requires the user to learn to rest the pump in the center of the FMD, on the steps, to fill at full speed. You can also choose simply to take your time filling the container. We have posted both fill and pour instructions online at https://www.scepter.com/safety/instructional-videos/ which should help. not worth wasting your gas or money.
I bought the first one the handle didn't want work. I returned it and got the 2nd one the handle works but it leaks when you poor the gas.

Hi customer - We are sorry to hear you’ve had difficulty with the SmartControl Gas Can. To open or vent the fuel can, the green tab on the neck ring must be pressed down and the black cap slowly turned counter-clockwise. The green tab must be pushed hard enough to clear the teeth on the black cap, providing the necessary clearance to allow the turn. Once the fuel can is vented, retighten the black cap. TO POUR: There are two steps to using this spout. Step 1. UNLOCK: Using your palm, press and hold the small dark green lock tab up to unlock. Step 2: POUR: Place your fingers over the black grip and keeping the lock tab depressed and using your palm, squeeze to slide the large light green block forward to release the fuel. The large light green block will need to slide all the way forward to achieve maximum flow. There is stiffness expected when pressing the green neck ring tab as well as when sliding the large light green block forward as both are part of the child resistant features. Plan to spend another $10 for different spout
Saw off the nozzle, keep the original ring, get a traditional spout, and add a vent plug to the handle area. See my photos. More work than its worth, but I had no choice, I was in a bind when I originally bought the thing.

Hi DifficultPhil – It is important to be aware that this can is not to be used with any spout other than the one it came with at the time of purchase as it will not seal correctly. Gasoline vapors can be explosive. Therefore, it’s imperative to ensure your fuel container is properly sealed. The FMD is an important safety device designed for your protection. It should never be removed from the container. We strongly advise against using this can with the modifications you’ve described. Great safety features.

The Scepter Smart Control has a squeeze controlled flow rate that helps filling stuff without spilling a drop. Love that you can fill the container without spills and that you can't overfill.

A new concept but a Great one!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a new concept in gasoline/diesel containers. It’s not just a pour and go concept with gas splashing everywhere. Scepter has envisioned a safer and cleaner alternative with this new design. With the new design the gas only goes where you want it to and when you want it to go. This diesel container requires you to press firmly as you pour so that it flows easily into whatever you are fueling and stops perfectly the minute you stop pressing. The added plus is that it has a splash back design that keeps the gas/diesel from splashing out. This is a wonderful new innovative way to keep your hands clean and prevent spillage!

Easy pour design.

With other cans, I struggle lining up to get the fuel out, but this container is so easy. It was a simple palm push and finger grab! So easy!

Awesome Features
