How many gallon tank
It's a 12 gallon tank.
Does this fit a Mercury outboard motor
Yes, the Scepter 8669 portable fuel tank can work with a Mercury outboard motor, but you'll need the correct Mercury-compatible fuel line and tank connector/fitting for your engine model and year
Is this tank drilled for fittings?
No. The Scepter 8669 tank is not drilled for additional fittings. It is factory sealed and comes only with the installed fill cap, fuel pickup port, and built‑in gauge. Drilling or modifying it is not recommended.
How come they weren’t saying how many gallons
It's 12 gallons, it says so in the description. You're right though, it should be in the title.
Can it be used for red dye kerosene?
These marine tanks are tested for its intended purpose = Gasoline only. Smart Control Kerosene model # FSCK571 is intended for kerosine. We don't have it in stock, unfortunately.
Will it store diesel?
No, it is not recommended for diesel storage

Can it store home heating oil ? I need to hold a small amount of oil to attempt to get an old oil furnace repaired. P.S., if my furnace can't be repaired, I'll switch to gas, but don't want to re-install an oil tank for $5K to find out; thus this Q.
It is not treated for home heating oil, we don't recommend storing home heating oil in it.
