shark ion robot
I ordered my shark ion through Home Depot and received it in a fast and timely manner. I love this product! It’s quietier than other brands and easy to operate. I have other shark products and the shark company is a great company to do buisness with.

I love this vacuum! I schedule it for 3pm every day & come home from work to a freshly vacuumed house. It rakes up dog hair and while the dust bin is small, that doesn't matter so much if you run it every day. I give 4 stars because it does sometimes run out of juice or get stuck, but most of the time it's on the dock recharging when I get home. It is also pretty quiet and my dog isn't too afraid of it

We've been really happy with this product since we got it at Christmas. It *doesn't* have "mapping", but if you just let it run a while, it will take care of everything. We have mostly hardwood floors and some low carpet; it never has a problem cleaning it, and even does edges and corners very well. The HEPA filter is great; it seems to get a lot more small particles than our really nice "big vacuum" for whatever reason. The container is huge, too, and it will pick up plenty of hair as well as sawdust and the like. We haven't used the smart scheduling much just because we have a very hectic house with six people, but it works well, too. It is not the best at finding its way back to the dock, but that wasn't a big deal to us. We are just concerned that it cleans well and keeps up with the messes so we don't have to! Recommend highly.

Our Shark (aka Bruce) has been one of the best purchases we have made for our home. We have two cats and a dog and Bruce is able to help us manage the fur and dander that accumulates in the house. When we were considering purchasing this Shark I was worried about how it would fair on our carpets, but it hasn't been an issue at all; Bruce has no problem with our multiple area rugs, even those with a higher pile. Some reviewers also mentioned this model having trouble finding its dock at the end of a run, but after the first couple uses Bruce has no trouble getting back to his dock. For the price of this Shark compared to what the Roomba models cost you really cannot beat this product. Bruce has significantly reduced the time we spend cleaning and has made our house more livable and inviting. We really cannot recommend the Shark Ion enough, you will not be disappointed!

The Ion Robot is the vacuum of my dreams. Except that even in my wildest dreams I didn't imagine a vacuum that I would love so much! I'm a bit of a vacuum connoisseur. Seriously, I've tried expensive and inexpensive brands, cordless and corded, on hard woods and carpet. I have four young kids and a dog and we have other kids coming and going all the time so I do a lot of vacuuming. I've already been converted to Shark vacuums but even so I was a little skeptical. Could this little thing do the work of my Shark upright workhorse? It turns out that yes, it can! I have decreased the amount I use my regular vacuum by probably 90%. There are times I want to clean up a certain area so I'll pull the other one out or I need to get in a tight corner or crevice, but otherwise the Ion takes care of it. The suction is great! I was shocked when I emptied it--it got up so much dust and dirt! And when I've not been diligent to clear an area it has sucked up pencils, crayons, etc. which I actually find encouraging--it will clean up messes with larger debris like cracker pieces, etc. Usually I shut it in the room I want it to focus on and in a remarkably short amount of time it'll cover all of the floor. (I will note that if you desire straight rows of vacuum marks, this is not the product for you because it crisscrosses all over, but that doesn't matter to me.) I also use the boundary tape to mark off areas sometimes when it's in the main living area and I don't have doors to shut. It hasn't had a problem getting up onto or off of area rugs and even plush ones haven't been a problem. The battery lasts for hours! I can get bedrooms and much of the main living area done (in fact, I think sometimes I can get it all done). I love how it finds it's charging station when it knows it needs some charge. It can maneuver in remarkably tight spaces. I love how it goes under the beds, dressers, etc--I rarely got under there and I feel like the house is so much less dusty! I am thrilled with this and I am still exploring the options (the remote and scheduled cleaning). And, my kids' favorite part? They feel like it's a little robot companion. Ha! They named it Waffle b/c it looks like a waffle maker and the whole family refers to it as such.

I absolutely am thrilled with this vacuum. I have used Shark products for several years now and this one has not disappointed me. This machine picks up as well as any vac I've had. Being only a little over 2 inched high it goes under my furniture easily. I used my swiffer to get the corners and odd spots this won't reach, but that is no different than using my large vacuum. I've only had it for about a week. If my opinion changes I will update.

I have wanted one of these for the longest time. Finally, I got the opportunity to get the Shark ION ROBOT one. We’ve named her Annie. Having 2 pug mix dogs, we are over-run with dog hair. The whole house is hardwood and tile where we use her. It has taken us a little time to get to know and understand each other. We have not scheduled her yet – like I said – time to get to know each other. She has a self-cleaning brushroll that captures most everything – even an unstuffed stuffed dog toy (which made her stop and notify us that she was in trouble) The small collection vessel means that she needs to be emptied frequently – sometimes during a cleaning. She will let you know. She has “Smart Sensor Navigation” that allows her to navigate and adapt to surrounding obstacles. Sometimes it’s like she keeps making the same mistake over and over, but she does eventually learn. She has these cute dual spinning side brushes that snatch and bring in things you think she’s going to miss. I think she’s still learning the house – I haven’t seen her get too close to corners or stay close to the wall. Friends that I’ve talked to say it takes time for these robot vacuum cleaners to learn the right path. She does have a “spot” clean setting that you can select on the remote and she’ll start doing small circles, getting larger until she runs into an obstacle. We also haven’t used the Botboundary yet – we have a very open floor-plan and just shut the 2 doors to the other areas of the house. If we decide to let her venture off to dangerous places, we’ll use them to block off the stairs to the basements. I love how she can find home when I tell her to dock (well – she can’t really hear, but I push the dock button on the remote). Her Lithium-ion battery is supposed to last an hour – we haven’t run her that long yet. She comes with (1) scheduling remote, (2) triple A batteries for remote, (4) side brushes, (2) filter’s, (1) lithium-ion battery, charging dock, 9 ft. of botboundary, (2) botboundary connectors and (1) cleaning tool. Pretty much everything to get her started right off and have a spare set of side brushes and a spare filter. So happy with her so far. I hope I’ll feel the same way in a year. I you have pets, they might not like her right off. See video!!

WOW. Just WOW! If one were to perform a through synopsy of the reviews of all available robotic vacuum cleaners on-line, one would be disinclined to invest in the future. And that is the greatest tragedy of all. One person may claim their shoe's laces caused a malfunction, while another might assert that their robot got stuck in an unlikely location. NONSENSE, i say! I have researched cleaning robots for over a year, and eventually chose the Shark ION RV700 robot. Here's the thing. As much as your robot learns from their environment, YOU also learn from your robot. You learn what is OK and what is not OK to leave around the house, along with mitigating potential traps. Of course, one would like their robot to perform flawlessly straight out of the box, but that is unlikely, as good habits must be learned, and bad habits changed. MY EXPERIENCE I have a one bedroom apartment, somewhere around 500 sqft. It is all hardwood & tile, with no steps and a number of rugs strewn about. This is the PERFECT environment for a floor-cleaning robot to explore and clean. My biggest concern, and potential deal breaker, was that the robot would be unable to climb over the edges of the rugs. But it did!! And effortlessly, to boot, and all the while CRAZY QUIET!! Numerous cleaning sessions resulted in an unbelievably surprising amount of dust and hair! I figured that after the 5th day, there would be nothing left to clean. Alas, my robot still finished his tour with a belly chock-full o' dirt. Cleaning sessions last approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. The battery is also (amazingly) changeable, so if the duration ever dwindles below 45 minutes, it is more or less effortless to change out the old Lithium Ion battery for a new one. ALGORITHIM Unlike other units, this robot's expeditions seem quite random. Of course, deep down inside they're really not. There are carefully calculated algorithms processing inside this unit that will attempt to clean an unknown area of flooring in the most optimized manner possible. It's not perfect, of course, and during observation, one will notice that certain areas will be cleaned numerous times, while other areas are minimally explored. This is the nature of the beast. There is no requirement for WIFI (Good!) and a map of the apartment is clearly not made. This allows for a changing environment, while minimizing the need for human consistency or too many unnecessary new habits. FEATURES Twin rotating brushes collect hairs from anywhere in the path of the robot. I don't own a dog, so i can't say how this particular model would perform with excessive animal hair. But with nominal human hair, it's a rock-star. The remote allows for scheduling the robot up to once daily. This schedule is then "sent" to the robot, and the schedule is followed quite effectively. All in all, the operation of the robot is ridiculously easy. Did you miss a spot? No problem! Just pick him up, place him in the new location, and press clean!! The dust & dirt tray is ridiculously easy to empty. Just press the open button while the robot is docked and charging, empty the tray, and replace. Once a month, it's recommended to clean the filter. Other than that, this little hard worker takes care of everything else. I can't tell you the relief of coming home from a long day of work, and the only thing i need to do to ensure a clean apparent is to empty the dust bit of my ION robot. CONCLUSION I must honestly say, i was expecting the worst. What i got from the Shark Ion Robot, however, was nothing short of a miracle. I couldn't be happier!!! This little worker flies around my apartment and cleans almost ever square inch of the place, and does so for about 80 minutes. It has only gotten stuck twice out of a dozen cleanings, and it was easy to mitigate the issue. Other than that, he always returns to home base without issue. Rugs are no problem, and after every adventure, the dust bin is surprisingly full. Robot is incredibly quiet. 100% recommended for cleaning assistance in small apartments with no steps/stairs, especially hardwood floors. This little guy will change your life, and you will rarely reach for your vacuum again, if ever.
