Rick, Good Question. I have not heard of this problem but certainly believe you. All log racks have their limits and I am wondering if the weight of the wood simply over came the end frames ability to retain the weight. Did you inspect where the end frames connect to the wood? If it is not a tight fit the end frames will lean out. The other wood racks I suggest you check out are the all tubular model SLRM and the square tube model SERM. This model is probably the strongest. I hope this helps. Call us at 1-800-325-7076 if we can be of further service.
It's 1 1/2" by 3 1/2", A regular 2x4 will work fine, I bought 12' long 2x4's at home Depot for mine 3 years ago and is holding up well.
The slots are designed to fit industry standard 2 x 4's which are 1.5" x 3.5". We recommend you use pressure treated 2 x 4's since the wood will be touching the ground or floor. You can use other materials such as Trex, etc but remember these products may not be as strong load wise as wood and may bend or twist under load easier than wood. Thank you for your question. We appreciate your interest in our product.
The dimensions of this product are as follows: 2 x 12.5 x 45 inches. The tubing is 1.25" in diameter.
