I built my 30 x 60 workbench using these as designed with 2x4’s. You could park a car on it! There is no structural reason to use 2x6’s on a workbench.

Hello Kits, The RTC42 Rigid Tie® Corner Connector does not come as a kit with the fasteners included and you will need to source the screws or nails separately. It has a ZMAX finish which provides a medium level of corrosion resistance for exterior applications not exposed to de-icing salts, submerged in water or used below grade (ground). ​It is important to ensure the published capacity satisfies the anticipated load for your project. Maybe but a deck needs very strong. These are but I would make certain that I used long decking screws even if I had to enlarge some holes 

I’m no sure if You can. I returned this item Because using these I could not make my bench square. I really thought they were a great idea, but everything I tried my Work Bench Frame was still out of square.

I am not sure the specifics of your application (post/loading needed/etc) but this might be a viable option for your installation. Hello, Even though RTC42 has galvanized finish it is the finish we recommend for exterior wet conditions with treated wood. Request RTC42Z with Zmax finish which has extra zinc and provides adequate corrosion resistance for most exterior applications. Regards
