Southwire's Category 6 cable is made with 23 gauge solid bare copper conductors. It consists of 4 color coded unshielded twisted pairs. It is UL listed to the applicable NEC requirements for each type (flame test listings). The versatile design is rated for use in walls and under raised floors and is flame retardant for safety.
Constructed and color coded to TIA/ANSI standards
Accepts and is compatible with all standard RJ45 connectors
UL listed, RoHS compliant
250 MHz
May be used in place of CMR, CMG, CM and CMX cables
Like other customers I purchased a box of Southwire "CAT6 Riser Cable" that I was shocked to discover was Cat5e size wire, not Cat6. The 23/4 wire gauge listed on the box is false.
I had noticed the twisted pair wires inside this riser cable were very thin and slid too easily into my Cat6 RJ45 connectors. Using calipers I measured the bare wire diameter at 0.0205"/ 0.52mm, which is 24 AWG size wire, not 23 AWG. Southwire should not be representing this riser cable as 23/4 Cat6 cable.

NOT cat6
I came home and pulled out the wire to find regular cat5e. This is so clearly not cat6 and I'll be telling the store manager to take these off the shelves before someone else makes the same mistake of buying this. I saw other reviews with a similar claim. Save yourself and just buy online or something because this was the only local place for me.

Meets Expectation and Requirements
Our home was built long before the current building codes were in place. Combined with age the DIY work done by the previous owner/owners have made any upgrades attempted very difficult. Due to the ISP point of entry into our home is in our basement the WiFi signal upstairs and on the opposite end of the house is week and intermittent. Each member of the family had expressed their frustration in trying to sustain a constant signal thus the need to run data cables to several different locations in our home.
I am an electrician; however I do not work with data cables nor do anything requiring the extreme speeds found in data centers or office buildings. Based on what I was trying to do combined with I already had the tools to add my own ends and the testers, a data technician I work with steered me to use the Southwire Cat6 Data Cable.
Several days ago, early August, I picked up 2 one hundred ft rolls; however after the first run I realized I needed more so I returned one of them and picked up the 500ft roll. I ran the above product from our router approximately 60 feet to a switch. From the switch there are two runs of about 3 feet one run of about 8 feet and one at 50 feet which does go through the attic before terminating. I also installed another data jack in my garage (approximately 100 feet). Per my family members the WiFi signal is much better due to a second router being placed in a more central location. All of the hardwired devices have seen a substantial improvement in internet download and upload speed, stability and more importantly all users are happy.
The product met my expectations in regards to ease of the install. Arguably it would be easier to purchase cables with the ends already installed, I found being able to customize the length of wire was easier and much more cost effective. Pulling lines through walls without the ends attached and the ability to install what I needed at the termination points were much easier without having to worry about kinks, bends or fighting with wires getting tangled. Should I ever have to run network wires again I would consider using the same product again.
I will update my review should I run into or discover anything over the course of time.

Overall good product, support Gbps speeds even though doesn't have the internal insulation between wires that I expect for cat6 (see picture); doesn't seem to make difference.

not sure what the deal was here but if you check multiple boxes the cables are not the same one is dark blue and one is light blue... light blue cable is more of cat 6 gauge but still no plastic seperator in the middle for cross talk purposes dark blue looks just like cat 5e cable even fits into regular cat 5e rj45 fittings... ended up originally getting the dark blue had it ran around the house then had to return to buy another because installer was running low and noticed there was a big difference between these cables. The boxes have same skus same everything on the outside but cables are completely different, wasted a bunch of money paying installers... buyer beware

I picked this up 2 weeks ago to wire the network in my home. It shows cat 6 on the box, but its really cat 5 wire! There is no hard plastic spine in there to keep them insulated from each other. I am so angry because due to COVID-19 I cant return this CAT 5 wire to get the right stuff. I will NEVER buy networking material from home depot again or this wire company!

Cat6 1000' supposedly
I did a store pick up order for 1000' of cat 6 wire to finish a project. The next morning when I had time to do the project the cable was too small to strip properly in my cat 6 stripper. I had 2 other boxes that I have gone through from another hardware store. The cable was a darker blue and this Box then the others and thinner without the fiber cord that supposed to be in the cable. I returned it and had to settle for a 500' Box that seems to be right. Seems light the company must have labeled the wrong wire. Definitely a cheaper wire than what I paid for

The pull box makes installation easy!
My home network is humming along on CAT6 which is faster and more secure than wireless. I ran two cables per drop which can be used for data and phone. Coupled with a patch panel, I can make changes just by plugging in. Cutting over from my old phone wiring to the new wiring took less than 10 minutes and the computers worked trouble free. Since it is residential, I wired to the T568A standard.
I actually got higher Internet speed than I had before since I eliminated most of the phone company mess.

Solid Blue
I was pulling wire by myself and the wire rolled out of the boxes like hair out of butter. I did not have the need for another person to simply feed me the wire. Wire quality was excellent. Will use again.
