Check the lock/key system well before your first use
The key/lock system failed on our first trip. I used a pliers to jiggle the lock and the key eventually came out of the lock. The unit itself is fine but I would suggest holding on to the receipt. We used it the day of the trip so it was too late for us.

Very flimsy and difficult to lock and unlock. To be honest if we had had the time we would have returned it. The shipping timing was wrong and I spent several hours on the phone trying to ensure that we would have it in time for our move out of state.

Perfect
We have had it for a couple of years now and used it a couple of times, taking 1,500 mile round trips. Never had any issues. It's very sturdy and I feel very confident using it. It looks just as good as the more expensive Thule and Yakima.

The cargo box functioned as expected and held up on a cross-country drive through high winds and snow. Our major complaint was that it is surprisingly difficult to lock the box without applying quite a bit of pressure to the lid, and it was not entirely obvious that this was the solution, as opposed to, e.g., the key being stuck in the locking mechanism.

Don’t want to pay for a Thule? This is good enough. Only noticeably “cheap” feature is the key slot. Besides that, it surpasses my expectations and carries my snowboards/skis/gear, it’s quiet on the highway, and does not affect my driving experience. I use Brightlines roof rails and drive a Jeep Renegade.
