Control Max 1900 Pro impresses and stands out
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The first project I used my Titan ControlMax 1900 Pro was on a garage door re-painting that was long overdue. I used water based paint from my local hardware store. I did the preparation of taping off and covering any hardware on the garage door first. I then unpackaged and did the simply assembly of the sprayer. I read over all the instructions, which I highly recommend, before turning on the sprayer. After following the few steps and maybe 5 minutes, I began spraying paint onto the door without any major overspray. The spray gun was light and easy to handle throughout the project. The sprayer was not loud compared to others out in the market. The amount and flow of paint coming from the sprayer was exactly what I needed. I made sure to stand 4 feet(I found this was best for my project) from the garage door at all times. The total time of my project was one hour and thirty minutes. Pros: Easy set up, easy clean up, minimal overspray, user friendly. Cons: Temperature has to be ideal for paint to allow spray machine to work at peak performance. Recommendation: Temperature to be ideal for paint to not gel as listed as a con but more of a recommendation. Also thin out water based paint very little with water before starting any project, as it allows paint to flow through sprayer without it clogging up.

Best sprayer I have ever used!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Prior to the Control Max 1900 Pro, I have used a number of handheld sprayers. This was the first-time using a sprayer like this. One of the things that first intrigued me was the claim that it performed with 55% less overspray. I have always wanted to use a sprayer to paint the inside of the house, but have always been afraid of the overspray. When I have used other smaller handheld sprayers, there is always significant overspray, my garage is proof. I decided to give it a go and use this one inside. I still covered the floor, baseboards, and doors. I did notice a huge difference in the amount of overspray. Even though it has some, it is significantly reduced. What is even better, the amount of time spent painting was reduced significantly. What in the past took be about 6-7 hours to paint with a roller and brush, took me about 3 with prep work. I will never go back to roller and brush. I also wanted to see how it would preform with stain. I made a sofa table with benches and used the sprayer to spray it. It did a great job, made an easy job even easier. My in-laws needed me to spray a poly clear coat on an antique China cabinet. I did not attempt to spray the poly without diluting, so I am not sure how it would spray undiluted poly. I used a 5:1 mixture on the poly with mineral spirits. It did a great job. I have sprayed poly and oil-based paints in the past with smaller handheld sprayers, but the Control Max outperformed them. The finish on the China Cabinet looked smooth like glass. I did spend some extra time cleaning the sprayer just to ensure I wouldn’t have problems in future jobs. I liked it so much, I will be retouching my kitchen cabinet doors with this sprayer. Overall, this is an awesome sprayer to have! I would definitely recommend it for DIY people like me. I will soon be is to replacing 2 broken garage door panels and painting them with this baby.

              Like a breeze
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I stained my fence with this amazing product. Not only was applying the stain a breeze but so was cleanup. The 50ft hose that came with it made maneuvering around the yard and trees an easy task. I guarantee this product will save time and money.

                  Makes quick work of projects!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While I've used an HVLP sprayer before this is my first experience using an airless sprayer. Overall I'd say that the sprayer did an excellent job. The only issues in the three doors that I painted have to do with my inexperience. For my first project with this sprayer I decided to change the color of three doors - a 16'x7' garage door, a 8'x7' garage door, and a person door with an oval window that is on my enclosed breezeway between the garage and house. I used a quality acrylic latex paint and sprayed it on the 2 setting. I did end up painting both sides of the person door, but only the outside of the two garage doors. The house is around 25 years old and the two garage doors likely have been painted once in that time frame. Every garage door in sight of my home is white, so we decided to go for a bit of color. We may be paying for this choice next summer with a hot garage. First thing to note, when buying paint make sure and purchase around a quart more than what would be required to complete the job with a roller. This isn't due to any loss of paint with the airless setup, but just the volume of paint that is in the suction hose, pump, 50' pressure hose, and the amount needed to cover the suction filter so it can pick up the material. Before using the sprayer I watched a video online from another first time user and he had some suggestions on how to recover this paint, which I did perform twice and will get to later. Second, while this is designed to handle 1 gallon cans, the cans have to sit on the ground instead of hang on the pump, so it's not easy to keep it primed and move the pump around. Wasn't an issue for me due to the length of the hose, and for most smaller projects I don't think it'd be an issue either. That also meant that the suction hose was a bit further than absolutely necessary to the bottom of the paint can, leaving a bit more paint in the can than would be required otherwise. I found myself setting the can on top of something else to allow the tube to suction more paint out. I also ended up going back to the store for a second gallon, and added it to the first in a 2 gallon bucket. I did pump clean water through the entire system before going to the store for more paint. The longest part of painting these doors for me was the prep work. Again, first time at this and I likely need to learn a few tricks that will speed it up for next time. I will also admit that I wasn't feeling great that morning, but due to the weather forecast (warm even for winters in Houston) and the amount of other projects I have coming up with the Christmas season, I wanted to get it done that day. This may have made things take a bit longer than I expected them to. That took most of the morning, that and waiting for the fog to lift and the doors to dry from the morning's condensation. Painting of the doors, until I ran dry on my first gallon (or 3/4 of a gallon to be more accurate) took under 10 minutes. During spraying I did notice that the forward part of the tip guard was getting covered in wet paint. After reading through some documents after painting I believe that I may not have tightened the guard enough to keep paint from leaking around the spray tip. I did not try to resolve this issue as I only had a few drips on the drop cloth and a little splatter that came out at the beginning of each trigger pull which was quickly covered up or fixed by the spray following it. I did end up with some runs both on the person door, where I had sprayed too much paint while trying to get in all of the detail around the window - my fault, along with some around one of the door handles that didn't show up until the following morning. I believe this latter set of runs may have come from either some water leaking out from under the handle or some kind of condensation that happened during the night. All in all I'd say this is a great paint sprayer if you're looking to cover a large area quickly and in a single pass. If you're doing detail work then expect to do multiple passes or use a sprayer that pushes paint out a lot slower. In the future I'll likely do the latter as I already have a Wagner HVLP sprayer that is pretty good on the detail work. The only failings I've had with this sprayer I view as due to my own inexperience. I plan to get some more practice with this on the back side of my garage next.

                    Makes Painting Fun
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Finally was able to use this to paint some walls on my shed. Easy set up and sprayed well after figuring out how much thinning of the paint was needed. Clean up wasn’t as hard as I imagined it would be after reading some reviews. I plan to buy the tip for staining and use the controlmax 1900 to stain my deck in a few weeks. This bad boy sprays evenly with ease cutting paint time in half compared to rolling it. Hopefully it will spray the stain as well as it did the paint!

                      Professional Results
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am not a pro painter. The job I had was a small job. Had 5 cabinet doors that had a real need to be painted. The Controlmax was easy to set up using the supplied instructions. It primed with no problem allowing me to spray the fronts of the cabinet doors in about 5 minutes. There were no runs or spatters on any of the doors. I let the doors dry for about 30 minutes before turning them over onto the painting pyramids. Sprayed the inside of the doors in about 5 minutes and I was done. Will never use a roller or a brush to paint cabinets again. Great product!

I'm a general contractor and do a lot of painting. In the past I have stuck with a different brand with a smaller comparable sprayer with semi-satisfactory results. Not anymore. I have bought Titan products before and have been impressed with them up until now, and am very satisfied with this Controlmax 1900 Pro airless sprayer. It is easy to set up and use, has a lot of power to spray consistently, has a lot of features and settings to adjust to any spraying situation, and with the included 515 tip is good enough for general purpose spraying. The included hose and gun are more than adequate to start out with but I will definitely be adding additional hoses, guns and tips and extenders to my "arsenal". Highly recommended!

Pro Level Sprayer for the DIY-er
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When you see the videos of the perfect sprayer, this does exactly that. Pretty easy and a lot of fun to use! Instructions are clear and easy to follow. Pros: A professional level sprayer Easy to use and understand Great paint coverage Cons: Clean up, as usual, takes forever Only comes with one sprayer tip The hose gets twisted while using, but I would assume that gets better with more use Tips: Tighten the hose connection with a wrench before use! Otherwise you get paint everywhere... Follow the instructions. They are pretty straightforward. Your first time using make take longer, but the more you use and get better at cleaning this thing will be a blast to use.
