Customer Reviews

AC2600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beastly! I use this on my home network to hardwire my XBOX1X and it is beastly and my speeds are amazing with Comcast 150mbps. Much better/faster than the RE350 which I had before. This thing covers my entire basement and expands my coverage outside much more than the RE350 did. Love it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Extremely Disappointed Was surprised how easy it was to setup. First 3 hours it was fabulous. Then wireless dropped off with no connectivity and got a IP conflict on one of my wired PCs for no reason. Cleared the cache on my E4500 Linksys smart router off all devices. Still NO wireless access. Reset the AC2600 (RE650) and set it all back up again. No wireless connectivity. units able to see wireless but wont connect. Selected devices to forget wireless networks and reacess - nothing. Ran a network scan and it keep showing the wireless network going up and down constantly. Updated the firmware to the latest version. It self rebooted. No connectivity for better than a hour. Took a break and then reset the device again. Network back up for about a hour. Then it shut itself back off. Now it will go up and down constantly even though their is a blue ring actively on the device identifying solid network connection. My other router tied to is sitting in basement almost directly below it. I even tried using a network cable to directly tie the two together so no wireless connection necessary for extending network. Nothing. This unit is completely unstable and unreliable. Extremely frustrated and disappointed. After seeing all the one stars Im curious how it is keeping a high rating (someone fat fingering the rating rather than looking at the reviews)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Useful for large area or shared wi-fi access situations It took quite a while to actually setup the extender as I had trouble having my extender correct to my Wi-Fi connection. But once the system stabilized, I could connect quite easily by directly connecting to the extender over Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi connection speed over the extender is about 50% of what you would get with a direct Wi-Fi connection. So there is significant performance reduction. This is definitely better than having just one band of signal at a distant corner of the house or being seated in a yard or something. But you should remember not to connect to the extender if you are within decent range of the direct wifi connection. One feature I liked was the ability to just turn off the LED control lights at pre-defined timings such as, say from 8PM - 8AM everyday so that there is no blue hue in the room at nights. Access control is also another nice feature which is available with most recent TP Link network products. Overall I think its a good product with very specific use cases. Don't consider this if you have a Wi-Fi router (especially if its TP-Link) that has a very good span across your working area. Submitted as part of a free sample program

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Range Extender ! The RE650 is extremely easy to set up, by either using WPS, or by entering the admin console and picking the 2.4GHz and 5GHz host networks, entering their passwords, and SAVING before re-booting the RE. (Note: At my screen resolution, the SAVE button was covered by the helpful "QR Code" screen-splash for downloading TP-Link Tether). Be sure to save your settings before re-booting. Other than my mistake on this, the Admin Console is very well laid out and simple to use - you can choose to hide your extended networks SSID Broadcast, and they are automatically set to the same password as your host networks (cannot change). The RE650 has its own DHCP server settings, that can be changed on the "Network" tab (if a conflict), and the "MODE button" in the Admin Console allows the RE650 to be switched between the Range Extender mode (default), or the Access Point" mode if connected to a wired network. The Advanced Settings Tab provides on/off scheduling capabilities, power settings, and white-list/blacklist settings. You can turn the very attractive (almost neon-blue) LED status lights on or off in System Tools, as well as doing an on-line or manual Firmware upgrade, if needed. Many of these settings for controlling the RE650 are available in the TP-Link Tether app, but I much prefer using the Admin console for initial setup. Both are simple and work great for their respective purposes. I have experimented with various locations for the RE650, and have now found the sweet spot for greatly improving the signal and data rate for the two worst dead spots in my large two-story house. The RE650 does require a full wall outlet, but the great improvement in wireless network performance easily justifies that. The signal for my wife's laundry room computer has been sporadic, but is now strong and steady since installing the RE650 between my (downstairs) router and her location. No more surfing complaints from her ! Submitted as part of a free sample program

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Extender Range extenders continue to get faster and better and this one by TP-Link is no exception. This one comes with 4 antennas and is good for AC2600 dual-band wi-fi over both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz channels. The setup was very easy and using the TP Tether app to manage configuration setting is very straight forward. In addition, the gigabit ethernet is useful when placing ti near other network devices that could benefit from a wired connection. I have over 25+ devices on my network at any given time and probably half would connect to range extender with no dropped connections or noticeable slowdown. Overall this is a great extender to use. Rated 5 out of 5 by from say goodbye to your dead spot woes Submitted as part of a free sample program. Although this range extender is much larger than many others available it's also faster and more robust than others. The built in 4 antennas help ensure that your signal reaches every nook and cranny greatly reducing dead sports that your current router just cant reach. Set up is easy and straight forward and includes an intelligent signal indicator that helps take the guess work out of where to place the unit. If you're looking for a high end Range extender that supports 4k streaming look no further.. this may be just the thing you need to complete your network.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best range extender on to date The TP-Link AC2600 Wi-Fi Range Extender is the best range extender I've ever used. It has all the latest features and excellent hardware to back it up, including four external antennas that offer the best range I've ever received from a range extender. With 4x4 MU-MIMO and Beamforming technology signals are sent faster and more efficiently. This makes a noticeable difference when using multiple devices and a home with high internet traffic. It performs great wirelessly extending the network but if you need more, the range extender also has a gigabit port you can plug a laptop or gaming device or anything else with ethernet capabilities into. It's also a breeze to setup with TP-Links new Intelligent Signal Light which lets you know when the range extender is in the right location. It's as simple as red is too far away and blue in a good spot. Previously it was always cumbersome having to waste time on trial and error trying to find a sweet spot for the range extender to perform ideally. Now you just plug it in and look at the light. And once you're set up and running, TP-Link has a great user-friendly tether app which you can use to monitor your network devices. This is a large range extender. Keep in mind it will block both wall outlets. Submitted as part of a free sample program
