I bought the product to find where a electric cable was disconnected or broken. A series of electric plugs didn't have any electricity anymore in the house. Trying to follow the non electrified cables running behind dry walls was ok at some places, but all plugs environment gave signal (sound) on the 2 cables, meaning they were all connected together. Problem is that all air conditioning ducts gave same signal (sound). Some other electric points were also providing the same signal (sound): several lamps in the house (that were switched on), ... I verified all connections in the plugs, in the lamps, and never found what was wrong. So many electric points in the house gave a connection signal from basement to attic that I didn't know which were the cables connected together, and which were not... That didn't meet my expectation.
