Hi, To the best of my knowledge, I think the wood pieces are made of pine. Hope that's helpful.

Hi Justin, unfortunately the Homedepot.com is not able to provide stock or pricing information regarding products of Canadian Home Depot stores nor are we able to ship internationally at this time. I would advise you check with the Home Depot Canada online site. https://www.homedepot.ca/en/home.html I would also suggest you contact your local Home Depot stores for capabilities and availabilities of products. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future. Thank you for shopping Home Depot!

I have no idea if the Canadian stores have this kit. I would suggest you go online to the Home Depot stores - I'm sure you'll be able to tell by that.

I was very disappointed with the product. I bought the 12 pack for my cub scout den. When we opened the packages and began to assemble the toolboxes, it quickly became apparent that the bases of the toolboxes were longer than the sides. So none of them fit together properly and I had 11 cub scouts, just learning how to use hand tools, who struggled to make it work with the help of their parents. If I had known ahead of time, I could have shortened all the bases to fit, but these kits were supposed to be ready to assemble. The quality of the wood itself was good, which is the reason why I didn't give it a 1. If it had fit together properly, I would have given it at least a 4, if not a 5. If I had to do it again, I would look elsewhere.

                  Cute Activity
These tool box kits are a cute and easy to do activity. So far I have done one with each of my kids, ages 8, 6 and 3. The 8 year old was able to fully hammer in the nails (I started them) and take care of the glue in the handle. The 6 year old did a few pounds of the hammer and took care of the glue. And the three year old was really just interested in the glue. And all three enjoyed applying the included stickers. (The stickers don't stay on particularly long but the kids had fun with them. I think we'll end up extending the project and painting the tool boxes.) Everything you need is included in the kit except wood glue and a hammer. (And sand paper but we skipped that step since we didn't think the wood was rough.) You could probably even do without the wood glue, but might as well make sure the handle stays put. This would be a great activity for a party, play date or just boring Saturday. By myself I could put together a tool box in about 5 minutes but depending on how old the kid working with you is and how much they are involved it could take longer.

Easy to assemble, Light sanding might be needed, Easy to paint with latex and concrete paint
Although I will be using some of these toolbox kits as they were intended, I decided to use these for Easter baskets. The instructions are straight forward - use wood glue or in my case regular Elmer's glue in the joints, and piece together the kits as the manual states. I did find that by holding the side while nailing the triangular ends into the sides prevented the sides from curving inward. If I made a mistake when hitting the nail wrong and it bent in the wrong direction, the nails were easy to remove - this was done before the glue dried. In addition, having the holes marked for nails also sped up the construction process. I also lightly sanded the edges of the assembled tool box using a 220-grit sanding block. I also like having the option to decorate the tool box kit either with the enclosed stickers, with paint, or with nothing. For the pictures enclosed, I used OOPS paint: Behr Interior Flat, Eggshell, and Premium plus Ultra paint as well as Tan Granite Grip Concrete Paint (for a textured stone look). The regular paints took only two coats; however, the concrete paint needed five coats to achieve the desired look.

                  Perfect Birthday Party Activity
I was so excited to find out that these easy-to-assemble tool box kits existed! As a mom of 2 young boys, I'm always looking for projects and activities that we can do at their birthday parties. When I saw this 12-pack, I knew it would be perfect for our 3 year old's construction themed party. Each kit comes with just a few pieces that can be easily assembled, with the help and supervision of an adult. Although the kits are recommended for kids aged 4 and up, I think they're definitely an option for younger children (with supervision). The kit includes everything needed to compete. For the younger kids, we recommend assembling one end, the bottom and both side. Then we had them secure the wooden dowel handle and put on the final end (with the 4 nails necessary to secure). It's just enough to make them feel like they made it! Each kit comes with stickers--a definite bonus. You could also provide additional options for the kids to decorate--paint, stickers, put their names on. The possibilities are endless. What an affordable, practical, sturdy favor for your child's next party, event, or visit with friends. I can't recommend this highly enough!

Some of the kits were not cut properly and proved difficult for the children to put together properly. Wood sections did not line up properly.

                  5 out of 12
We ordered 12 for our Cub Scout Bear den to build, we received 5. ONLY 5. The shipping box was sealed with HD tape, yet there were only 5 kits in the box. It has been a nightmare of trying to reach someone at HD to resolve. In the end, they told us to dispute the charge with the bank. So - a really bad customer experience. Wouldn't recommend ordering these, it's been too hard to resolve. The boxes themselves were OK. We had 5 Bears (8-year old kids) build them with no problems.

We used these at our contractor booth at a local town festival. We let the kids build them & take them home & it was a huge hit. They were easy to assemble, just a few nails were needed and it came with everything but the hammer.
