I used mine to mount a clam rake head. I drilled out the hole a bit to better fit the tang of the clam rake head which had a hole in it for running a screw through it. I cross drilled a small hole through the ferrule and wood and checked the fit. Then I installed it with gorilla glue and installed the screw with a lock nut. It installation totally solid.
I am sure they can be at different locations depending on the store you visit. I found these on the HD APP EASILY! THEY ARE CLOSE TO THE GARDENING /LAWN MOWER/SEEDS AREA OF OUR STORE!
Looks like @ 1.5 to 2 inches diameter
Yes! Just have to remove your old rake head & hammer it into the new handle. I drilled a small pilot hole to start with then pounded the rake head in firmly. It is quite solid & holds just fine.
not sure, maple or ash, I guess
I have a True Temper pitchfork and I recently broke the handle and decided to replace the handle when I started to dig out the wood in the end It seemed to me there was some sort of material in it that was very difficult to dig out ! Can someone tell me what it was and if it was some sort of glue where do it find it
