About This Product
This VELUX fixed FCM skylight with the Go Solar option includes a pre-installed solar powered room darkening shade and an internet gateway, allowing you to control the shade with your smartphone and enable automatic programs that boost energy efficiency. The solar powered shade is designed to harness the power of the sun to control the amount of daylight entering through your skylight. Installing a skylight is one of the most impactful ways to enhance the brightness and beauty of a room. Bringing natural light into a home through a skylight decreases the need for artificial light while maintaining privacy. FCM skylights are ideal for replacing existing curb mount skylights, including old plastic bubble skylights. This model can be installed on a site-built curb on a flat roof or up to a 60° roof pitch.

- Curb mount skylights can be installed on a flat roof, however, VELUX curb mount flashing kits require a roof pitch between 14-60° for a tile roof or between 10-60° for a shingle, shake or slate roof.

- Solar powered curb mount venting skylights (VCS) are eligible for up to a 30% federal tax credit on both product and installation costs, making them very affordable
- FCM or VCM skylight models with the in. Go Solar in. option also tax credit-eligible and include a solar powered shade, remote control and internet gateway, which allows you to operate the shade with your smartphone
- Solar powered and electric skylights (VCS and VCE) have an integrated rain sensor, which automatically closes the skylight during inclement weather
- Along with an internet gateway, a basic remote control is also included to operate the shade

- Since most VELUX curb mount skylight models are installed out of reach, manual venting skylights include a hook for operating the skylight, but a ZZZ 212 crank handle is sold separately for in-reach applications
- Manual venting skylight control rod (ZCT 300) for out of reach applications is sold separately and can operate multiple skylights

I am replacing a dome skylight and the curb is 26-3/8” x 34-1/2”, which is the best fit
Based on your outside curb measurement, you will need a custom sized FCM skylight, The "make size" of the skylight should be 1 inch larger than the outside curb measurement for best fitment. If you have additional questions about your project, please call VELUX directly @ 1-800-888-3589
Wireless solar powered skylights
VELUX solar-powered skylights and shades are entirely self-sufficient, requiring no electrical hookup. They come with a convenient remote for easy operation.
I have an outside curb dimension of 30” x 45.5”. Will the 31.5 x 46.5 fit correctly?
You will need a custom sized VELUX FCM (fixed curb mounted skylight) to fit this application. Please reach out to your local Home Depot store for a quote on such a skylight.
The outside dimensions of my curb are 21.5" X 47" and I am not clear if I need a custom size ordered or if an alternate size could be made to fit.
The outside curb measurements provided do not align with any of our standard sizes. It will be best to order a custom FCM in this case.

Can I add a window tint film (lightly tinted #50) to a fixed skylight?
Adding a film or tint will void your skylight warranty, so consider a VELUX solar-powered shade instead! They are easy to install and include a remote control for operation..

My current skylight is a domed, manual venting skylight with a rough opening of 25⅜ x 49⅜" on a pitched roof. What is the best option for a replacement skylight. It doesn't have to be domed.
VELUX VCM 2246 2004D has a maximum clearance of 26 5/8 x 50 5/8's inches. Same is true of our VCS 2246 2004E which is solar powered and includes a remote control.
