Vigoro Bamboo Plant Labels are a perfect way to help you keep track of the plants in your flower, herb or vegetable garden. The natural look of bamboo blends in seamlessly with your garden. Insert the plant markers beside the seeds or starter plants immediately after planting and you'll have an accurate record of what you have planted. The wide and smooth surface of the garden marker makes it easy to label with a pencil or permanent marker. The garden labels are made from bamboo - a renewable resource. And since they are biodegradable, you can bury them in your compost bin at the end of the season.
Label seeds and starter plants to quickly identify varieties as they grow throughout the season
Made from eco-friendly bamboo - a renewable resource that is biodegradable in compost bins and gardens
Smooth surface for easy labeling with pencil or marker
Pointed tips helps insert the label into soft soil
These would be perfect if not for the almost instant molding the moment they get wet. They’re sturdy, they’re a good size, but started seeing mold on day 2, totally covered in mold and illegible by week 3 (photo).

Hello, bamboo is naturally water absorptive and will begin to distort after exposure to water after a few days. We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused.

recommend sterilizing them prior to use
i've recently bought around 8 packs of these and started labelling all of my indoor plants and not just the outdoor ones. all the ones i had on hand prior to them being unavailable at times during covid are perfect 5 star, have loved them, but all i've bought in the last few months have seemed far inferior in finish and quality and they grew mold within days of me watering a plant and it's nasty - picture is after i wiped most of them off - 2 or 3 different growth types and rapidly spreads over the top of the soil - i had to re-pot 2 of my rare philos and one of my epis had mold all over the rooted node when i repotted it. the bamboo stakes and wood spikes on the moss poles in these plants have never been a problem and i've never seen plums of mold spores in the soil until using these, so i can only presume they're the source. i pulled them all and put them in a dilute h2o2 solution for hours, then ran them through the 'sanitize' cycle on the dishwasher and i think i'll dip them in straight h2o2 before i try putting them back and see how it does, and will probably boil all the ones i have left before i use them, but am pretty displeased.

These are a useful, sustainable addition to a gardener’s toolkit. Because bamboo is a vigorous-growing grass, the stakes require little petroleum to produce and deliver.
The stakes are sturdy and provide a fairly smooth writing surface. I tried writing on it with a No. 2 pencil, a grease pencil and a permanent marker. All worked well. I prefer the permanent marker. The bamboo is nonporous so the ink didn’t bleed. In my experience, exposed to the elements, the bamboo will change from tan to grey, but my markings will remain.
These labels are as advertised and were adequate for my needs.

Great option for the natural gardener who is not interested in wasting plastic. I wrote on my stakes with permanent marker and the labels have held up fine with multiple waterings. They are smooth and easy to write on and stick easily in the ground.
I'm personally partial to the look of wood and other natural items in my garden and yard, so I would definitely recommend these over plastic ones. If you don't need it, just toss it because it will biodegrade (whereas plastic will take 500 years, give or take).

Simple yet functional, a must have for my little veggie garden. I like that they are biodegradable. Enough for the plastic junk. I let my grand kids to write the names and put them down next to the plants. They enjoy the activity.

The Bamboo Plant labels from Vigoro are very functional and an easy way to label plants in the garden. These are 6" tall and 1/2" wide. This makes them very sturdy when placed in the dirt. It's easy to use a permanent marker to write the plant name or you can print off labels. These are a great value for the 24 count in a package. Happy Gardening!.

Placed in moist soil, with seeds. After several days I noticed mold growing on these bamboo markers. I had to remove these markers and replace with plastic markers.
