Assorted Rotary Tool Accessory Kit with Carrying Case (282-Piece)

This is still a good value because of the grinding attachments. The drills are are evidently made on a malfunctioning machine. No one is checking quality. I bought two different WEN kits, both have butchered drills. Two of them appear to be made right, but these 4 aren't. I checked a couple of the grinding tools. They seem to be OK. Dremel kits are probably the best way to go.

WEN’s model 230151A 150-piece rotary tool accessory kit contains a lot of accessories (see Photo 1), including a brass brush, a bristle brush, diamond-coated bits, silicon-carbide grinding discs, aluminum-oxide grinding discs, fiberglass cut-off wheels, silicon-carbide grinding discs with shanks, aluminum-oxide grinding discs with shanks, high-speed steel drill bits, a high-speed steel cutter, mandrels for cut-off wheels, a mandrel for felt wheels, felt wheels, spindle sanding bands, a rubber grinding wheel, cut-off wheels, sandpaper, sanding shanks, collets (1/8, 3/32, 1/16), a dressing stone, a cloth wheel, a wrench, and a bottle of polishing compound. I tried the accessories I most typically use, such as the sanding bands and cut-off wheels. The thin cut-off wheels easily cut through a 6-32 machine screw, but it was a challenge to cut a 3/8” piece of all-thread. It took four of the thin cut-off wheels to complete the job (see Photo 2). However, when I switched to the reinforced cut-off wheels, it took only one wheel. It was slow going, but there was a lot of metal to cut. In the end it did a good job and made a smooth cut. The second most used accessory for me is the sanding bands and they did a nice job on some white oak. I tried one of the grinding stones and found that it did not run true. Photo 3 shows that only one side of the stone was doing the actual work. This test was in a tool that I know runs true, so the stone is clearly not true. I then used one of the diamond tipped bits to fix a mis-aligned striker plate (see Photo 4). I’m pretty sure the plate was steel (definitely not brass). The tip ground down the inside lip of the plate with no problem. Overall, I’d say the quality of the accessories is mixed. However, for an occasional user, the selection of accessories could come in very handy. But if you’re someone who uses a rotary tool for mainly one function, you might want to consider investing in high-quality accessories for that particular function instead of a generalized accessory kit.

First, this 282 piece accessory tool kit can be used in any rotary tool with a 1/8 inch shaft so don’t think this accessory kit is only limited to WEN tools. Most rotary hand tools have this size shaft, so this kit can be used with other brands very easily (though I sure like my WEN rotary tool). The kit is jam-packed with a large variety of bits for sanding, grinding, polishing, deburring, engraving, and drilling through most any surface, and the organization of the bits in this handy, clear-top case with a carrying handle means that you will easily find the best bit for your project and, maybe most importantly, be able to return it to the case to use it again and again without it getting lost in the shuffle! Each bit locks into place in the case body or in the lid, so no excuse for misplacing it now. The WEN folks have really designed this accessory case well, with both the large number of useful bits and with the ability to easily secure the bits in the case. I highly recommend this accessory pack due to its wide selection of bits and thoughtful carrying case design! It is a winner!

The overall quality of the various bits is high. On par with Dremel and much better than knockoffs you can find online. The price is also outstanding. You basically get at least one of every type of bit you will need and multiple cutting discs and scroll sanding discs which wear quickly. By comparison, long lasting non-wear metal cutting discs can cost $15 or more. For $10 more, you’re getting dozens of cutting discs plus everything else. The case is also seemingly sturdy. It keeps bits organized and retains them well. The clams should hold up to abuse. Not sure about the hinge. That will require longer term testing. The case also has a handle which snaps back into place when not in use, two handy nail slots for mounting and a solid sliding clasp to keep it closed. It loses one star because, as received, a plastic bit retainer in the top half was broken and several more had hairline cracks. As a result, a bit was loose. Gluing the broken piece back into place with pro loctitie super glue pro (available at HD) completely fixed the issue. The plastic that retains the bits in the top half appears to be of a lesser quality than the shell itself. This is a very minor criticism. At this price point, the bits could come in a shoe box. Thus a five star value. Also important to note is both Wen and Home Depot have excellent customer service.

Everything you need and then some! This kit comes with everything you need for your rotary tool. The case is the perfect size. Nothing bulky about this kit which is what I needed. Once I got it I immediately used the sand paper barrels to shave down a base board. I replaced my air vent and it quite didn't want to fit in. I didn't want to cut down a whole new board for just a 16th of an inch. The sanding barrel took it down with ease. At that... the barrel held up well. It really didn't fall apart or wear very much at all. I'm enjoying the kit but experimenting with all the different accessories it comes with. I'm new to using a rotary tool and this kit is helping me learn various techniques and uses.

Wen Accessory Kit for Rotary Tool: Great selection of rotary tool essentials. Brushes, grinding stones and disks, wire and nylon brushes, drill bits, rubber bits and wheels, sanding disks, sanding bands, sanding flap wheels, cutoff wheels, and so much more. The extra mandrels are great to have, so you can have several different things loaded to easily change. There is also a bottle of polishing compound. These accessories should fit any rotary tool that accepts this size accessories. These fit fine in my old dremel tool, with one exception. The 3 collets do not fit my old dremel, but all of the other 325 items work fine. I noticed that on some of the grind stones, the glue/cement that holds it on the shank has a large off-center "blob" of extra cement that worries me that they could be not balanced well (picture attached). Using these stones, I don't feel a vibration, so it seems OK. Another issue is that none of the items in the kit are labeled. None of the canisters with sanding disks or cutoff wheels are labeled. You have to open them to see what is in them. Even the container of polishing compound is not labeled. There is also no documentation anywhere with the kit. I'm used to buying accessories that have "warnings", etc... indicating the maximum speed recommended for operating the accessories. If you have a multi-speed rotary tool, some accessories are designed to be used at slower speeds. There is no paperwork in this kit, no labeling of any of the items, however if you are buying this large kit, you probably already know the purpose of these items. The carrying case displays the items nicely. I'm quite happy with the quantity and selection of items in this kit.

This Wen Rotary Tool Accessory Kit and Carrying Case (320-Pieces) is great. It has cutters, sanders, drill bits, wire brushes, grinding discs, and so many more great items too numerous to mention. I do a lot of miniature creations and this kit is perfect for my needs. I am very pleased with this kit as it has just about everything you can imagine. The handy carrying case that is included keeps everything organized and at your fingertips. Great kit WEN. I am very delighted with this item. Two thumbs up!

My rotary tool has had a lot of use for small jobs that cannot be done with my table saw, drill press, sander, lathe, etc, but only when I have the right accessory for it. Accessories do wear out and are not always the right type or size. This kit solves this by providing a huge selection of sizes and types of rotary tool accessories all stored in a small and well designed case. The accessories I have used so far seem to be durable and long lasting, so I assume that the others are of the same good quality. This as a great addition to my shop

The Wen Rotary Tool Accessory Kit is FABULOUS -IF I COULD ID GIVE IT 6 STARS!!! Had a rotary tool and i used it & the few attachments it came with on loads of things like on plexiglass, jewelry, crafts, tile, woodworking, sanding and polishing. I used it almost every week until i ran out of the acces. tool bits. Im delighted by how many bits comes in this kit & the range is endless! Everyone who does DIY or craft projects should own one of these kits, you will find many uses for it & you wont need anything else -even comes with tapered diamond coated drill bits! i have been using my rotary tool a lot lately. sharpening garden tools, grinding off rust. i used up a lot of Accessory's and needed a new set. this set looked good, i really liked the assortment of tools. Diamond burs, two grades of cut off disks, three sizes of drum sanders. 10 different metal grinding stones, rubber grinding stones, flap sanding disks, wire wheels and polishing disks and compound and more. this is the most complete set i have owned. the tools look to be of high quality and fit my rotary perfectly. I did a little grinding and sanding, they worked very well. I love this set.
