A:  Hi there, the Wyze Cam Outdoor v1/v2 are built for maximum flexibility, so you can put it anywhere you want - even if it's outside without a power outlet. To allow for this flexibility, features such as continuous recording to a microSD card are not available on Wyze Cam Outdoor as it would quickly drain the battery life. Since continuous recordings were viewed from the Playback option on other cameras, this option is not available for Wyze Cam Outdoor. That being said, you can achieve a similar result using the Scheduled Recording feature on your Wyze Cam Outdoor. With Scheduled Recording, the camera will record during a set time frame such as from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and save those recordings to the installed microSD card. You can view those recordings from the Album in the Wyze app or by inserting the microSD card into a computer.         A:  The outdoor camera only can function without wifi, wyze other cam products all require wifi to operate. You won't be able to save to the cloud without wifi and internet. Range is something around 300 feet depending on conditions that interfere.

            Nice cameras but the SD slot is useless
            The cameras work well and the range is good. It's disappointing, however, that the Micro SD slot in the cameras is basically useless. I'd assumed they could locally record if their connection was lost, but apparently the only way to use the SD Card is to go to each camera's setting daily and set it to record...very odd design.

            Even better than the original
            I needed to purchase another set of battery powered outdoor WYZE camera due to inadvertently resetting them to troubleshoot a connectivity issue. These newer cameras feature a wider viewing angle which now allows full side to side coverage of my back yard. The low light sensor seems to have been upgraded to the starlight version as it matches my other WYZE cameras that have it.

            Mail box monitoring
            I had trouble with two attempts to break into my heavy duty mailbox, so I wanted a camera to monitor it. The Outdoor Cam V2 seemed to fit the bill. To a degree, it does. I have it turned on to record for vehicle and people nearing the mail box during the dark hours. It does a good job of that, though the images are probably not crisp enough identify the bad guys. There is no lighting on the boxes, so that hurts. It would help immensely if telephoto lenses were an option. The box is probably 50 feet from the camera, which is mounted on an 8' pole in my yard, across the street. Having the solar panel makes the monitoring possible, though I wish it provided more output. I suspect I'll have a problem in other than the summer months. I did struggle mightly with the setup. A Dummies book approach would have helped with the basics.

            I love the night vision this camera provides! This replaced a Blink camera which was a gray, blurry image at night. What an improvement! Easy to set up. I added a solar panel so I don't have to worry about recharging. The physical installation was a little sketchy as the holes for mounting had to be exact.

            decent little camera for the money
            well it works pretty good range wise when you get this one with the hub with the 2 tall ears. but the pictures saved are not very clear, maybe 1MP. the live video is much clearer than the saved pictures. I don't like the fact you have to pay a subscription to get video. I have other wireless cameras called EZVIZ and it stores the videos on the SD card. this camera only stores a picture thats not very clear, unless you pay for the monthly fee. I don't like monthly fees. so I won't be buying this brand due to the money fees. But the range is much better than the EZVIZ cameras I had used before. I'll be sticking with the other brands. this more expensive Wyze camera feels more durable as its made with metal. the cheaper Wyze cameras are just light weight plastic that feels really cheap.

            Base station does not connect to network and App
            I am having issues to connect the base station to the network and Wyze App. The Base does not show up if the app scans for the new device nor does the QR code work. The Wyze App does not respond after connecting to the camera Wifi or is crashing. I ended up using the V2 camera with an already installed Base Station and replaced an V1 camera. The base station between V1 and V2 is the same model.
