Worked until it didn’t
I bought the Insta-read at the beginning of the summer and it was great until it stopped working. Was hoping for better from Weber.

    Half Screen Read Out
    I bought this 5 months ago and we used it on average 3 times a week. LOVED IT! Then only half the numbers started showing up and replaced the battery and still only shows partial screen. Picture attached

      Battery Screw Impossibly Too Small to Remove
      I just brought this product and it does not come with batteries. There is a teenie tiny screw you have to remove to open the battery holder and it is so small, it is like the designer was playing a cruel joke. I have some very small phillips head screw drivers for small screws, but this one is even too small for those. Why is that necessary? Weber usually makes some good products, but seriously?? Now I have to go all the way back to Hone Depot to return this garbage and find one the manufacturer actually wants the consumer to be able to use! Unless you are a smurf with a screw set to match, do not buy this.

        Absolute garbage
        Don’t waste your money. After only a few uses the digital screen is illegible. I thought it may be a battery issue so I replaced the current battery and that changed nothing. See my picture for the issue. I’d like a new one!

          Poor quality
          Bought this last fall and it worked fine at first, but it lasted only a couple of months before it became unreadable. See photo of the LCD.

            When Working, Worked Fine But Lasted Less Than Year
            As you can see from the other reviews, you kind of get what you pay for with this thermometer so I would keep shopping. Mine only lasted about a year before the LCD screen decided to stop displaying readable temperature numbers. Now all I see is a bunch of lines and I can't tell the temp. I think Weber should reevaluate this product based on all of these poor reviews and update this product. I will say, I reached out directly to Weber and they were happy to replace my unit with a new one so waiting to see if they actually follow through on this. Just go to their website and you can easily find a customer service email, include an image of the broken product and reason why it stopped working if you know.

              Stopped working
              I bought this a month ago and stopped working...replaced battery and still nothing.

                Love it so far
                I bought this thermometer about 2 months ago as an impulse buy while walking through Home Depot. Being a BBQ and smoking enthusiast I use it quite often and have been very happy with it. I’ve even managed drown it in brisket juice and it still works. I had a tray of smoked brisket in a Pyrex tray. It was so juicy, it can out perfect, But anyway, unbeknownst to me the thermometer fell into the tray and was submerged in the juices for about 5 hours. I took it out and opened the battery cover, removing the battery and letting it air dry for 2 days. I put it back together and it worked fine. I do have a grease line across the inside of the screen, but it’s still readable and working fine.

                    Same as others!
                    Owned just over a month and display gone after a number of distorted readings. Tried two replacement C2032 batteries after battling the tiny screw and no go. Taking back to the depot!
