Hello None, thank you for your question. The sensor cannot be rotated. It is forward-facing, in line with the outlet this unit is plugged into.

Had same problem of staying on all of the time. Returned mine and bought Westek model MLC12BC-4 from another supplier. I've been using MLC12BC-4 ones for years and haven't had any problems with them.
I do not know maximum detection range because of location in my pantry but it is mote than two feet. I do not believe detection range is adjustable, whatever it is.
The unit uses a tiny bit of power. 240 watts is the maximum for anything plugged into the motion detector.
The unit detects any movement
It's just an on-off switch, so I assume it should work.
