Hello! Please follow this link for the instructions: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1205/6674/files/SLC6C_INSTRUCTIONS.pdf?1014197717406275029
Hello! The SLC6CBC-4 is our most current version. All of the items mentions are suitable for use with LEDs.
The photocell needs to have a clear view of light (or dark) otherwise it will be confused and turn on/off randomly. Put it into a regular lamp socket and cover then uncover the photocell with your finger to test the control & youll see what I mean.
Unfortunately, this will not work in that scenario. From what you describe you would be best off with a timer for that light, however if there are outdoor flood lights you could use motion activated control. That way the light will only come on when motion is detected and shut off shortly after. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Westek-Outdoor-Motion-Activated-Light-Control-with-Adjustable-Off-Times-OMLC5BC/203675446
The screw is a medium base (standard - E 26) size.
If it fits into a standard lamp socket and does not exceed the wattage limit, I don't see why not. I have only used 40-60W bulbs so far.
To set the auto off timer, after installing the unit, make sure the power to the lamp is "On" and press the "Timer" button. The first press will make the light bulb flash 1 time - and set the unit to shut off after 2 hours. press again the light will flash 2 times, setting it for off after 5 hours, 3 times - 3 flashes setting it for off after 8 hours, the fourth time will cause it to flash 4 times, setting it to turn off at dawn. You can also hit the random button to have the unit randomly switch between 2, 5, 8 and Dawn. I have uploaded the instruction sheet to the sight as well, and it should show at the top soon.
Yes, this unit is compatible with LEDs.
Read the Info & Guides, Instructions / Assembly to the right side of the product overview. This Light Control can be programmed to automatically turn your light fixture ”ON” at dusk and “OFF” after 2, 5, or 8 hours or dawn depending how you program it. 1. Turn “OFF” the power to the lamp with the lamp switch or at the wall switch, if used. 2. Screw the control into a lamp socket and screw a bulb into the control. 3. Rotate photocell opening to face a strong source of daylight, but away from any artificial or reflected light source such as street lights or car headlights. 4. Now turn "ON" the power to the lamp. Unit is programmed by simply pressing the Timer button. The first push of this button will cause the light to flash 1 time and set the control to turn the light off after 2 hours. The second push of this button will cause the light to flash 2 times and set the control to turn the light off after 5 hours. The third push of this button will cause the light to flash 3 times and set the control to turn the light off after 8 hours. The fourth push of this button will cause the light to flash 4 times and set the control to turn the light off at dawn. To confuse possible intruders, a press of the Random button will choose at random between 2, 5, or 8 hours off after light turns on at dusk. Each night the control will choose a different time until control is re-programmed or the power is turned off. 5. Your Light Control is now programmed. 6. If unit is installed in a dark room and a different light is turned on, the control will turn off the lamp it is controlling. When the room light is turned off, the control will turn the light on and resume the program. 7. In the case of power failures, the control will still operate each day, once power is restored, defaulting to dusk to dawn until you re-program it. To re-program, simply follow these instructions again, starting with #4.
Yes, these can be used in an outdoor light, however, if it will fit your particular light depends entirely on the light make and model that you have.
