Underpowered for vacuum use
used with a 7 amp 3 horsepower peak Shopmaster vac for a few months, eventually died. looks like R3 resistor is toast

Failed due to careless design. While the switch itself seems pretty robust, and should be somewhat weather-resistant, the REMOTE required to operate it is small, delicate, extremely sensitive to environmental changes, but completely exposed to the elements.
My unit operated for maybe 200 cycles over 6 months, then quit. It was briefly exposed to humidity (bathroom), but always had plenty of time in dry air between times, never salt air, corrosive fumes, high heat, etc.
I photographed the inside of the remote to show the corrosion. This is unusual for a device so new. To make matters worse, the circuitboard is very badly designed, routing electrical pathways unnecessarily close together that must be kept separated to operate. I say "unnecessarily" because as you can see, there really is very little circuitry inside, and plenty of space for safe routing without short-circuiting due to an almost microscopic amount of corrosion.

Does exactly what I purchased it for.
I decided on a remote "on/off" switch instead of a timer switch for my newly installed pondless waterfall at my home's entryway. Home Depot is convenient for me so I checked their web site for a switch and ordered this one. Picked it up at the store a few days later and it works great. In that the indoor transmitter is only a few feet from the outdoor switch I cannot comment on range.

Purchased 2 ( on different frequencies ) for a courtyard...
Purchased 2 ( on different frequencies ) for a courtyard water feature with pump and separate LED lights. Able to turn on or off one, the other or both from inside the house. Only rated at 4 as they are new and no history over time.
