Very convenient, turn it on or off from anywhere.
Bought this for a streetlight that I put 2 hundred from down the road so people can see when coming over. Works great, remote hangs by the back door so I can flip it on anytime I go out the door or if I know someone is coming, I can activate it to go off after an hour and it will turn itself off after they leave.

Woods Outdoor timer w/remote
I bought this to control my outdoor lighting and i like it a lot! The plug is flat and angled perfectly so it can easily get installed in a covered outdoor outlet and still be able to close the cover without any issues. Additionally, the way its designed will make shre the outlets on this outdoor timer are always pointing downward so you dong have to worry about worry getting in them. Each of the three outlets also has a rubber gasket cover as to seal them closed when not in use. I have the outlet about 50 feet away and without direct sight of it but yet I’m able to control it from inside the house. Unfortunately there’s no feedback on the remote so you wont know for sure if what you clicked on got registered but i click on/off to make sute its registering my input and then select the number of hours i want it for. I MUST say though, when initially tested my remote DID NOT work either (a few reviewers talked about this and thiught it was broken) but if you read the manual its very easy to sync the remote with it. I believe you jusy have to hold the power button on the reciever until it starts flashing and then click on/off from the remote. I’ve has this for about a month now and havent had any issues!

Exactly what I was hoping for. Didn't go looking for it but discovered on shelf at store. Wanted an easy way to power-up/-down outdoor (and indoor) devices such as a water fountain on my deck without having to navigate to the plug or a floor switch. The remote feature is perfect. Works post initial setup/pairing of remote switch. Able to power fountain on/off from inside apartment. I plan to purchase another one for some indoor devices.

Awesome timer works great with bonus remote
Works great On at dusk off at dawn works like a champ. 4 things worth mentioning, maybe because I need reading glasses. 1) hard to really read 2h,4hr,etc until plugged in to power. 2) make sure you pull plastic from remote battery before trying to pair. 3) B it it. You’ll love it. 4) scrap the low voltage outdoor lights and get the regular line voltage outdoor lights at Home Depot when you get this timer. You’ll be glad you did.

Defect: Two of the settings are reversed
This unit is very useful for timing things in the evening. I really like it. However, the one I bought (in Jan. 2020) has a very strange manufacturing defect. Figuring this out was complicated by the fact that the unit takes about 6 seconds to react to a pushed button or change of light.
So, here is the defect: The setting with the moon and sun is supposed to be light-sensor driven, and the setting with the universal on/off symbol is supposed to be the "always on" setting; however, on the base they are reversed. To get the power to always be on, I have to choose the dawn-dusk graphic. To run it by dawn-dusk schedule, I have to choose the Always On graphic. Please note that these two buttons on the remote are reversed from the buttons on the base. Which is to say, they are correct on the remote. If you make your choices only by looking at the remote, you will get the expected result.
In my photos, you can see: when I pressed the sun/moon button on the remote, the "always on" setting shows on the base but it is actually operating in dawn/dusk mode. And in the picture where I have pushed the Always On button on the remote, the base shows the sun/moon setting, but it is actually operating in always on mode.)

Really good quality, feels like it will last a very long time. After a few seasons I needed to replace a similar timer for my Christmas lights. This unit is definitely a step up in quality and functionality. The light sensor allows for the lights to come on automatically at dusk, with varying pre-programmed time increments to automatically shut off. Two features I really love - 1) the remote control...so if for whatever reason you want the lights on or off you can easily control that without having to go outside, 2) the heavy rubber flaps that cover any unused outlets on the device to keep moisture out.

This outdoor lighting mechanical timer with remote is a great addition to your outdoor lighting. Easy to install, just plug in and pair remote. It also comes with safety covers to cover outlets you are not using. You can set the timer on it for 2, 4, 6 or 8 hours. It also can be set to go on at dusk and off at dawn. I like that it has 3 outlets, great for all my outdoor decorations. With the wireless remote you can change the setting from 100 ft. away. The plug and outlet is made of heavy duty materials, should last a long time. When you go to pair the remote with the outlet, make sure you open the remote and pull out the battery protector. I tried to pair and after having a problem pairing, I realized the protector was still on the battery. It was easy after that. This outlet is going to make my life easier because now I don't have to go outside to unplug my Christmas lights.

This is not a plug and play timer. Read the instructions to sync the remote to the timer. I have used these "on at dusk" timers for years but the added feature of the remote is great. I have this one on some inflatable Christmas decorations. I normally have them come on at dusk for 4-6 hours and then turn off for the night. It's nice that if it starts to snow I can use the remote to turn them on so they don't get buried in he snow. It's also really nice to be able to turn it on/off on a dark gloomy day when the photo-eye thinks it's dusk in the middle of the day. I like that it has three outlets and nice weather resistant covers for the ones you are not using. It is kind of hard to read how many hours it is set for staying on after dark. I took a picture to show that but the picture makes it look clear. This timer also has holes for mounting. I really like that I can mount it to keep it up off of the ground. If you have multiple timers be sure to mark which remote is synchronized with each timer.

The Woods outdoor timer is a good addition to my outdoor Christmas Decorations. It has three receptacles having good spacing between each. One thing I had to do first was pair the remote to the timer by holding the button on the timer until the light flashes then pressing the remote on button will pair them. I believe it is possible that one remote can control multiple timers. You can set the timer for constant on, dusk to dawn, and 2, 4, 6, or 8 hours after dusk.
