My question has to do with what do you do about the hole it leaves? I feel it is a perfect spot for more weeds to seed.
Just step on it to pack the hole. If your weed has seeds cut it off before pulling out weed.
After I pull the weeds, I fill with a mixture of seed and soil. Give it a good watering for it to settle. New grass grows in no time!
Are you implying your yard is so smooth a weed seed will not take hold save for the hole this tool makes?
Is it made of metal and what metal?
This item is made of steel.
It is made of metal, got a really good weight for pulling weeds. Not too sure what kind of metal. It has a nice paint on it so i dont think it would rust.
How long are the actual blades?
It is rounded prongs. No sharp edges. Just pressure from you poking it into ground and wiggling it down closes the clamp which cant go too deep as the foot petal touches the ground and opens the prongs. Wiggling will jiggle the pring to close.
They are not blades, more like rounded prongs. About 2 to 3 inches long.
About 3 inches--- remember to step on the side handle and it will go lower.
