How many amps is this rated for? I was thinking about using it for my 20 amp well pump.

It will only turn it on and off.

Does it works with three way circuits?

Still missing features
Customer review from Ecobee logo
At first glance the Switch+ does it all. With a bunch of sensors and Amazon's Alexa what more could ask for. And it come at a great price for all the features. Just do not look to hard at the features list. There three big gaps that might affect you and the way you implement the Switch+ First it is only an on/off switch, it doesn't do dimming. Second does not work in three-way locations. So no slave switches. Third you cannot connect the temperature sensor up to you ecoBee thermostat, YET. I bought the Switch+, and got one of the first ones shipped, and it is still not permanently installed. I wanted to use the Switch+ in the bedrooms to replace my existing GE Z-wave Dimmer, and Echo Dot. With the added feature of an occupancy sensor I integrate it with Smartthings and manage the light. I reality I was only able to replace the Echo Dot. Because the light switch was not a Dimmer, The occupancy sensor was not visible to the Smartthings app and the Temperature sensor was not connected to the EcoBee thermostat. So I moved the Switch+ out to the garage and used it as an Echo Dot. But even as Alexa device it is missing features. The one most important to me is being able to include the device in an Echo group. If you include a echo device in a group, with a light, you can just ask Alexa to "turn on light" when you enter a room. You do not need to know the name of the light. The Alexa in the Switch+ cannot be included in an Amazon Echo group. So does the Switch+ work as a on/off smart switch yes. Is that smart switch device exposed to Smartthings Yes! But NONE of the other sensors are exposed to SmartThings. To me this is a big miss on EcoBee part. They need to integrate the Switch+ better with system like Smartthings.

Great, easy to install and use.

I installed this in my kitchen for the over the sink light. I it makes it so much easier to work in the kitchen. I walk in and the light goes on. If I need a timer set for something I'm making, Alexa is right there. I have even gotten recipes for dinner prep.

Great smart switch with Alexa
Customer review from Ecobee logo
I am using 4 at different point in the house, so I am able to talk to Alexa from almost anywhere in the house, with no hubs and plugs, get almost everything Alexa have to offer including music in the room of my choice. This switch take home automation to another level. You can add all switch thermostat and sensor to your Google home.

A better way to sing in the shower!
Customer review from Ecobee logo
I beta tested these when they first came out and I loved it so much, I bought another one. Easy to install and set up was a breeze, took less than 20 minutes since I was very familiar with my switches. I have one in the kids’ play room in the basement and one in my second floor bathroom. The motion sensor feature is especially useful in the basement as I no longer have to trip over toys in the dark to get to the far switch. Having Alexa tell me the time, weather, traffic conditions, and play music while I shower has been very useful. I can’t wait for ecobee to release the with a dimmer switch option.

This device really packs a lot into a confined housing, and is relatively easy to install - if you can replace a light switch, you can install this device yourself. The allure of this device combines a light switch, an ecobee remote temperature/occupancy sensor (more on that below), and an Amazon echo dot into a device that mounts on the wall and is very unobtrusive. ecobee did a great job making a beautiful light switch that is packed with functionality. This light switch can only be installed as a replacement for a single-pole, non-dimming switch. I have quite a few 3-way switches and dimming fixtures in my house, which limits the places I can put the device to about 30% of my light switches, most of which are in tiny areas like bathrooms and closets. In order to achieve the dream of "whole-home voice", ecobee needs to take the next step and release a switch with 3-way switch compatibility and dimming built in. For $99, this should be included. Second, the delay or absence of key features. As an ecobee thermostat owner, I was excited to have the built-in temperature sensor to allow me to move one of my room sensors to a new location. Sadly, that feature is not coming until the summer (hardware is present, software isn't ready). For a company that was founded on producing thermostats and remote temperature sensors, this is a miss. The occupancy sensor is a key piece but the occupancy data is not surfaced (yet?) through the app so I can see what areas of my house are occupied, as I do with remote temperature sensors. I hope ecobee continues to listen to their customers and implement these features to continue making the smart-home experience enjoyable and unintrusive.

I don’t have electric plugs in my smaller bathroom but it has the shower. I can now listen to the news or pandora through the ecobee switch+. Helps by shutting off the light since the kids have not figured out how to turn a light off yet and has a nice nightlight that lights the bathroom pretty good. I’ve been waiting for this to come out and the wait has been worth it. The Alexa part works great.

I was a beta tester for this product and totally love my switch +. It was very easy to install and operate from my iPhone 6S Plus. I love the automatic lights on and off and of course the Alexa options. The night light option is also a really nice feature.

I was a beta tester for this product. Installation was simple and easy as with most ecobee products. If you can follow instructions then you shouldn't have a hard time. This switch did a lot more than just act as Alexa. It is also an ecobee sensor (room participation pending) so I was able to move my extra sensor to another room. It worked flawlessly with Apple's Homekit (heavily invested in this). The switch plus paired with my ecobee3 without any issues. The ecobee app works great and is easy to use. Having Alexa built in was genius. Instead of buying numerous Alexa devices which required a power source this kicked that issue out the door. Alexa worked pretty good, but keep in mind you have to use the Alexa app to activate various 'skills'. I was initially skeptical as I'm an Apple user. But Alexa did everything I asked, within it's activated skills, and sometimes even surprised me. The speaker is decent but not a replacement for a real audio system. The look of it is pretty sleek. PROs: -Alexa built in -Has ecobee sensor built in -motion detection -Various smarthome platforms supported -ease of installation -sleek looking switch CONs: -not 3 way switch capable -a little tight in the switch box -Alexa built in

Would not buy again.

Weak wifi radio and limited usefulness due to being hamstrung by only having Alexa as a voice assistance.
