ByOct 17, 2025

Answer This Question

Some people cut it out for the 1x2 to sit up against your wall, but you also can caulk it or use the rubber foam insulation. which ever way you prefer.

Will this system only work with Phifer Bettervue screen material or will it also work with either Phifer Tuffscreen or Phifer aluminum screen material?
    ByJul 23, 2025
    1 Answer |
    Answer This Question

our extrusions will NOT accept the aluminum wire screen. It must be fiberglass or nylon and the thickness should be .012 to .035 in thickness we carry the Pool and Patio 18 x14 mesh screen by Phifer. but you can source your screen elsewhere if you follow the restrictions.

How do you bend this to conform to an arched porch
        ByMay 8, 2025
        1 Answer |
        Answer This Question

It is not bendable. We do have an archway extrusion 288" you can special order or you can frame inside and square it off above the arch.

What size spline does it take
            ByJul 13, 2024
            1 Answer |
            Answer This Question

These extrusions, with their specifically-engineered shape, accept only a flat spline. This combination of EZ Screen extrusion and flat spline results in a locking effect between screen and extrusion that is superior to a u-shaped groove with round splin

                  Great product, easy install
Screened in a 18'x20' covered porch using the EZ Screen Room system. I had some runs between the 4x6 support posts that were longer than 8'. I inquired about the special order 10' lengths but found they were almost twice the cost as the 8' stock pieces. I wound up framing out the opening so that I could use the 8' pieces. Also, the cost for the screen door from EZ Screen was outrageous, almost $800, wound up buying Andersen storm doors for $200/per door. Spend the money and get an aluminum cutting blade for your chop saw, it's worth it for smooth easy cuts. The install is just like the video, had no issues. I used clamps when installing the 2"x2" cross bars with the capri clips to keep things squared. I did use some stronger right angle brackets on the upright 2"x2" posts where my doors we're going to be hinged to, just felt that the Capri Clips may not be strong enough. Very happy with the finished product, the screen was easy to install.

                    Great investment
After getting a quote on having our porch screened, we decided to tackle the project on our own. One reviewer mentioned contacting the EZ company, so that’s what we did! Carrie was wonderful and was able to give me a list of exactly what we needed to complete our job after I sent in some measurements and drawings, and everything worked out perfectly! I would suggest having an appropriate saw to cut the metal and watching the video on how to install the spline, but we love the end product!

I installed a new screen porch and used the Pet Proof screen and with my over weight cat when he get on the screen after a lizard I can take my finger or a tooth pick and move the area he was hanging from and return it back like he was never there. It is a lot nicer than normal screen that I have used in the pass. :) I used 8 rolls for the porch.

A great system to install screens
I purchased the EZ Screen System and Screen door for my porch. The materials are high quality and can be installed by two DYI enthusiasts. The screen is easy to install once you get the hang of it. You will probably end up redoing the first panel you attempt. I could not imagine doing this project alone. The Casio Clips could use some improvement since they will need to be painted. Please note that they screen door comes with screws that require a square bit and one is not included.

The Screen tight system was by no means "tight", we had to add additional white finish screws to get the "white open back aluminum extrusion" to secure tightly in place.

                        Really EZ
I watched the video that explained how to install the EZ system from the Home Depot website. I decided to tackle this myself. I measured and ordered everything I needed from Home Depot The EZ system, spline, screen, aluminum saw blade, door, screws, white calk and roller. After a day of planning and preparation this became my weekend DIY project. After completion I decided to paint the floor and Home depot was very helpful in my decision for this project also. If I can complete this anyone can do it. I'm a office worker so I was really proud how professional it looks and I had a co-worker accuse me of hiring someone to install it, so I knew I did a awesome job. Everything was exactly as advertised except the EZ aluminum extrusion is advertised as 8ft, but noticed the length was actually 7.83ft, but in my case the exact advertised length wasn't an issue, because I was going to have waste from all my cuts anyway, but it could be an issue for someone needing the exact 8ft length. The shipment arrived early. With Home Depot and the EZ system, this truly was an easy installation. I'm ready to tackle another project soon. Thank you Home Depot.
