Hello Ella, there is no recommended pole size for this product.
Why don't they fix the problem by making a clip with more closing force?
These worked well. We needed to cover some louvers to do some HVAC testing. These clips held a plastic sheet in place over the louvers. This was not a permanent installation, just used the clips during the testing.
i use these on a blue tarp on a chain link kennel and it works just fine. i also use it on a shade curtain material and no issues. you can check to see if they are the same thickness probably in the home depot store.
I haven't had a problem with tearing, but they are hard to get tight enough to keep them from slipping off.
These should work. I'd suggest using more rather than less to spread the load & reduce the chance of tears
I wouldn’t recommend it honestly. It worked great for my tarp and they grip pretty good. They might tear your cover. Sorry, hope this helped.
The clips have a wide and soft grip and I think a solar pool cover would be fine for that application without tearing it.
Hi Paul, This hasn't been tested before... so we wouldn't recommend it.
It will help but may not be the 'end all' solution to your puddling problem.
I had the same problem as you. This is what I did: I use two per side and each one is positioned under the metal grommet drain holes (this is the most likely place the water will pool) on gazebo cover. I then ran cord from one clip down to the ground (you can attach to a tent stake pounded into the ground or weighted, but because I built a deck for the screen tent, I attached it to u-shaped conduit brackets screwed to deck). I don't believe one clip per side will work well enough to keep the rain from pooling. Using these also keeps the gazebo cover less likely to blow off in strong winds.
The tarp clips make excellent anchors for any type of tarp material when tied to a weight. They should work perfectly in this scenario. Make sure to lock the jaws as tight as possible to ensure they stay attached under tension.
'IF' it is made form Canvas, try soaking it in water and fabric softener, rinse then put onto structure, Use the CinchTites around the edges evenly and place a cord (para-cord or 1/4" rope) through the holes and . Weave up and down until you go completely around. Have someone help you maintain even pressure/tension on all sides; it shouldn't take a lot of tension and you don't want to cause a rip in the canvas; basically snug enough it won't move. Let dry in place. I would place the CinchTites evenly and no less than 3 or 4 to each side. Once it dries thoroughly, you can apply any water proofing to the canvas you may need, let dry in place with CinchTites in place. Any seams I would make sure to treat with a good canvas sealant or 100% bee's wax. This method works with cotton fabric pretty well, it allows the item to be re-stretched without causing any damage usually. The 'key' is keeping even tension all the way around. This method should allow the canvas to dry in place and retain a reasonable shape to the final drying position.
Folded ends to make it thicker
I'd estimate the inside diameter to be about 3/8"
Worked pretty well, but I was trying to get the grip on a small rope not a tarp. It didn’t grip the rope as well as I had hoped, but did work.
Inside diameter of the ring in 1/2 inch.
Thank you for your inquiry. The inside is a little less than 1/2 an inch around.
