Questions & Answers

Can I just buy the hot and cold dispenser and use my existing hot and cold tank already installed?

Answer This Question

Yes, this is exactly what we did. Had to replace the original 12 year old (awesome) same dispenser when the valve wore out and began dripping. Directions included and had easy removal and install:) To us it is well worth the temporary undersink maneuvering!

Hi Karen, thank you for your question. If you have an InSinkErator stainless steel tank, you can still use it with any of our current faucets. Should you have other questions, please feel free to contact us at https://support.insinkerator.com/app/ask.

Can you replace a just instant hot insinkerator system with this dual one? Would you need to buy anything new other than the new handle?

      Answer This Question

Hi Joshua, if your existing InSinkErator hot water dispenser has a plastic inlet tube, you can use the same tank and replace it with this dual handle. Should you need additional parts, please refer to the Installation, Care and Use manual - https://bit.ly/39gfURu.

Would this work as a main faucet for a small bar sink area that will rarely get used (ie, the *only* faucet)?

        Answer This Question

Hi, this faucet has to be paired with our Stainless Steel Tank for filtered steaming hot water and cool drinking water all in one system. It will not work as a faucet only.

        By|Sep 18, 2021

Yes. I use it every day for filtered water.

Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator® Customer Service. The F-HC1100 Faucet in Classic Oil Rubbed Bronze is a standalone InSinkErator faucet that must be used in conjunction with an InSinkErator Hot Water Tank (HWT-F1000S or HWT-HP) that is connected to the homes incoming cold water supply. For further inquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us through insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com or call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.

We purchased this style Insinkerator Hot and Cold Water Dispenser to replace the one that wore out. The new faucet's handles are too long and they hit the backsplash on the sink and would not operate properly so we had to return it. Can you recommend another model with shorter handles?

                    Life-changing convenience
I’ve been wanting to add an instant hot water faucet that matched my new Delta faucet in champagne bronze for a couple of years now. When I saw that this one featured FILTERED hot AND cold water dispensing I knew it was time to invest. This faucet has simplified my life and knowing that the hot water I’m making my teas and soups with is filtered is very reassuring. Also, the cool water it dispenses makes filling the coffee maker with fresh filtered water so easy. The design fits my aesthetic perfectly.

Faucet provides separate levers for filtered hot and cold water
This faucet replaces a previous Insinkerator faucet of similar design and function. The previous faucet was leaking from the hot water lever that could have been rectified if a special tool and replacement washer was available. Because Insinkerator does not provide such parts, I had to purchase a new faucet at considerable cost.

Excellent valve. 25+ years without any repairs.
I have had the faucet for somewhere over 25 years. It has worked almost almost flawlessly throughout, and still looks as good as the day I bought it. The cold water valve no longer locks in the "on" position, but there is an easy work-around: just put a cup or bottle of dish soap on the lever to block it open when you don't wish to hold it open. We use it 2-10 times daily. Hot tea, instant coffee, or perhaps melting frozen veggies with hot water prior to going on the stove. I also use the hot water side to melt grease off of dishes. It has outlived 3 of the under-sink water heaters. Other reviewers report a short life span on the parts. Perhaps there has been a change in quality over the years. I'd give it a full 5 stars, except for the absence of parts availability. Despite its age, so far as I am aware, this is the only hot water dispenser valve which also dispenses the filtered water in hot and cold, so they get 5 stars on "innovation". I guess innovation counts, regardless of how long ago it was done. There are more little tubes under the sink than you might anticipate, and the valve installs cleanly in the hole where our flexible dish sprayer was located. It seems to have been designed to fit that traditional 2nd hole in the sink. This necessitated installing a new sink faucet with sprayer features built in to the raised spout. Overall, that has proven to be a big improvement also.

Faucet gets HOT when dispensing cold water - weird
We have had our unit for approx. 15 years. The faucet gets SUPER hot when dispensing COLD water. Never figured out why. Also the hot water Side randomly leaks. Sometimes it makes a grumbling noise several minutes after it was Turned off and then spurts out hot water. Strange and unsafe. We Are Building a new home and looking at different hot water dispensers since this one has been so weird!

Hi Bonnie Blue, thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience. First, we want to congratulate you on getting 15 years of service from your unit! The typical life expectancy for an instant hot water system is about 7 or 8 years and some even report 10-15 years. Regarding the issues you've noticed, hot water dispensing from the cold side likely indicates an internal valve failure and the faucet will need to be replaced. The rumbling noise is typically the tank reheating to maintain its set temperature; this occurs periodically throughout the heating cycle and more frequently when it is used regularly. However, the spurting you described is often caused by water reaching a boiling point or air becoming trapped in the line. If you have questions or need assistance in finding a suitable replacement for your new home, please don't hesitate to reach out to our Customer Service team via https://support.insinkerator.com/app/ask, and we'd be happy to help!

                            Wears out very quickly
We installed this around 4 months ago. About 2 months ago the cold water lever stopped staying in the 'on' position. Then 2 days ago the cold water stopped working entirely, and using the hot water causes water to leak out of the cold water lever base. Not a good lifespan for the product at all.

Easy to install and works like a dream!
Installed this myself as a replacement for the instant hot + cold faucet in our Kitchen that finally gave out. At first I was intimidated by the maze of hoses and water lines connecting it to the tank, but the installation instructions were so clear and easy to understand that the DIY job went smoothly, and we were back in business in no time. I just trust the Insinkerator brand. All of their products I’ve ever owned, from disposals to instant hot systems, are well-made with solid metal components (not plastic), and they’ve performed reliably/as expected for years without issue. I like that there are parts available if you need a repair, and the DIY installation instructions are easy to follow. The versatile, modern styling of their faucet fixtures is an added bonus! If you think their product pricing is high, just remember, “You get what you pay for.”

On demand hot water; filters the chlorine
We like having the hot water for tea and other beverages needing hot water. So much nicer not having an extra appliance on the counter or stove top. The filter works great, eliminating the chlorine smell from our water. I had just the hot water faucet after we moved and missed the cold tap - having both is my favorite. We had the countertop people drill the hole in the quartz. The rest of the installation went smoothly. It isn't comfortable working under a sink and inside a cabinet but the end product is worth it.

We had a professional install the new faucet due to the nearly impossible access under our sink. For him it was easy. It was not the faucets fault for being difficult to install. We replaced our previous Insinkerator Hot/Cold Faucet after 22 years of excellent service. (The valves simply wore out and the parts are not replaceable- we definitely got our money's worth). Great product, well made, and a game changer for the kitchen.
